returned to the UK, put together and managed Sex Pistols, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Adam & The Ants etc...
ripped off every artist who he was managing in the 1970s/80s...
ended up bringing back hip hop to the UK from the US where it was still an underground scene...
invented the dance moves they called "vogue", Madonna took it to the masses years after he nurtured it...
ruthless in all forms of business, which is why I guess John Lydon couldn't stand the guy...
he died in 2014 aged 64 from cancer...

I have a couple of Lucinda's albums..."essence" and "car wheels on a gravel road"...
"essence" is the earlier of the two, lots of nice melodies and vocals, I really cant pick fault with that one, but
the other album, which is one of her more recent ones, she sounds flat/monotone and the whole affair is lethargic IMO...
I find her to be very inconsistent and overrated because of that(not just comparing the albums I have but from live clips ive seen also)

Happy Birthday to Phil Collins who turns 65 today. Love him or hate him (he seems to inspire strong feelings, either way), he hardly needs introduction having dominated the airwaves with one or another slightly too syrupy hit for my taste over a certain period. Apparently he had more US Top 40 singles than any other artist during the 80âs. The mind boggles!! There are a number of saving graces in his favour, however, and he is another of those artists whose name pops up in the credits of a surprisingly diverse array of work.
