I don't like Trump but what a stupid thing for the Pope to say!
We are taught not to judge. Does the Pope read his Bible.
He might be the Pope but he is not perfect either. His statement proves that.

It should not be taught by preachers in the pulpit. Bet y'all didn't know I would say that.
One think about the churches though, they don't make the laws.

the Church in the US will generally endorse political candidates (privately and publicly) who's religious beliefs coincide with the Church...
the Church does give donations to political candidates also which in return does encourage the elected candidate to vote on laws accordingly,
therefore, the Church is 'indirectly' ensuring they get what they want through the political system.

you'll find that a vast number of your current politicians (and past presidents) are/were active members in the Catholic Church...the biggest and richest
Church organisation in the Western World, of course they influence laws and who gets preselected.

and its not just America...
you'll find that in the UK the Anglican Church/CoE have sway over politics over there also.
in a lot of Europe, again, the Catholic Church wields the power.

in his criticism of Trump he may wall have influenced the course of the election...

and at least Trump had the guts to stand up and call him out on his stupid comments,
Trump may lose a bit of support over criticising The Pope among Catholics,
but he will also gain votes from non Catholics for not bowing down to him IMO...!

Many of our churches here do not endorse candidates. They can lose their tax exempt.
Sounds like the Pope endorses though or is trying to do so.
I'm not a Catholic so I don't really know what they do in their local churches here as far as politics goes.

When elections are due here or policies announced the Catholic church here likes to put their two cents worth in the mix,
They always say'we are not endorsing one party over the other but...."
That's probably their way of not aligning themselves one way or another directly, but you know who they're supporting with their comments, and because they're not directly supporting someone they are still tax exempt...

That's another issue I have with Religion...why should they be exempted from tax when they can squire land, business interests etc, if they paid taxes/duties like every other organization/ big business Governments worldwide would have more money in the coffers to provide better schooling, hospitals, security etc etc...

Where does Trump think he is going with the Cruz lawsuit?
Sounds like he is fishing without worms to me.
Trump better watch it. He might go too far.

not sure which one LL is referring to
he has threatened several
that's how Trump rolls
latest I think is over ads Cruz has run showing Trumps position from years ago
another one was over Cruz's eligibility to run based on his citizenship
Cruz says bring it on

meanwhile
yesterdays results

Trump wins South Carolina
Clinton wins Nevada
Bush throws in the towel

and the beat goes on

Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-02-2016

Deja vu...
First it was Obama's citizenship, now Cruz....

I think Trump knows that he has the money to keep anyone tied up in the court system for years if need be,
And that usually means one of two things...
1...the opponent ends up broke with legal fees, or
2...the opponent settles out of court to avoid the other reason.
