Jerome Wrote:This is what rock music is all about. Amazing how Entwistle's bass drives the whole track.
About "Baba O'Riley": In this '72 perf, the Who RAH, it's Nigel Kennedy on viola that makes it special (the lad was clearly enjoying himself).: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BDY1dWvzJA

SteveO Wrote:I like the song! Vanilla Fudge did a hard rock cover that I like also!
Did they ever! A later version (comment #6 says it all): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuisGkFcDXI and from back in the day/As the geezers say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJtzlCa0lW4 << 40+ years may separate these perfs but the same spirit flows though...You can well believe Ray Anthony had no choice in booking these folks...

#347 - Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed The chart placements are from a Wings live recording 6 years
later. [and] Who needs a damn band anyway?
He didn't wing it--he was playing from charts which Wings was privy to.

Music Head Wrote:#346 - Aerosmith - Walk This Way - 1976
...you ain't seen nothin' till you're down on a muffin... and "...hey diddle diddle"
with your kitty in the middle of the swing..."
Now these are some lyrics I and Ellen DeGeneris can believe in.

CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:"*" from me....just simply dont like U2
Exactly. Anytime I see "Bono" or "U2", I go immediately to an authentic Irish band sans pretension--Black47: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wukfdjJv340 << keeping it local, keeping it real and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V_ZEzdlteY << both of these may be too political and anthemic for some but see'm in a Dublin venue and become a believer.

Music Head Wrote:#343 - Rolling Stones - Wild Horses - 1971
Susan Boyle's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb3XAP0c8WU << they wrote this song so she could cover it. Period. Paragraph.
Ian Stewart was present for this recording but refused to participate. Reason: the tune involved playing minor piano chords, which he had a loathing for.
I kid you not.
Total knee-slapper, this--a key-banger in a blues band who hates minor chords? That limits him to at most 1/2 dozen songs in the canon. Lawsamercy, child.

Faux nuevo-retro psychedelia--an idea who's time has come. Too right, mate. No, really, thanks for posting.

Music Head Wrote:#339 - Bonnie Raitt - I Can't Make You Love Me - 1991
Vocal recorded in one take with Bonnie deciding it couldn't be
better. I agree.
My what travails she's overcome! What the Blues world lost, the greater music community gained.
Minor cavil: She pronounces "patronize" incorrectly which changes the meaning completely. PA-tronize (long A) means only to purchase from; PAT-ronize (short A) is to treat with intellectual disprespect, which is the way she means it. This always has bugged me.

Music Head Wrote:#338 - Queen - We Will Rock You - 1977
Two anthems on one single.
With this band, what else did you expect? A Carpenter's tune as the "B" side?
