Great album. Get their live album 'Two for the Show' IMO one of the top ten live albums of all time.

ihave that one also, i dont like it much Myst, i cant see why it a so-called "classic" album in the slightest

Myst Wrote:Just recently picked up Joni Mitchell's album Blue from 1971 to add to the collection.

^ I'm similar to you Myst regarding Joni's Blue album. There are several "classic" albums that leave me wondering why they're classified as classic. I also find that some artists/bands just don't do it for me!

Then there are artists that don't impress me a whole lot in the studio but are much better live!

^ I hear you SteveO. I think with Joni Mitchell's Blue album it's the vocals I'm having a hard time with. I've heard that if you stay in there and keep listening you'll eventually start to "get it" and love the album. *Fingers crossed*... we'll see. Smile

Well, I finally bought Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Murder Ballads. I haven't listened to it yet, but the big "advisory" sticker on the front of the album cover below tells me that I may be in for an interesting listen...

I think the general consensus at MD is that Mr. Cave has never really released a bad album! I love Murder Ballads...enjoy Myst!

Quite correct SteveO...Nick Cave has NEVER made a bad album!!!!

listen Myst...most of his albums have one of those "explicit advisory" labels on them...but their are not really that bad IMO, there may be several so-called explicit words over an entire album, nothing like most of the rap albums out there...and with Cave, it seems appropriate to include the expletives when neccessary, they are not just randomly there for shock value or every second line in a track...

"muder ballads" is a great introduction to his material

BRUNO MARS "unorthodox jukebox"...i had to get it as love the singles so far and his "doo wops and hooligans" album was brilliant IMO

also picked up a three cd set of studio albums by Iron Butterfly
i love the track "in-a-gadda-da-vida",and for the price of one cd i got three, good value, maybe??!!

no picture available but the albums are "heavy", "in a gadda da vida" and "live"

finally, i picked up a four cd set of Aussie country/folk songstress Kasey Chambers

^^
on Iron Butterfly
obviously In A Gadda Da Vida is the must have track
but I always thought Heavy was their best album
don't think it even sold that well
love Eric Blooms vocals

I was always struck by the similarities in the names Iron Butterfly and Led Zeppelin

thanks for the heads up mate, appreciate it, just thought the package was worth it for that track alone, one of rock's finest songs IMO, cant wait to hear the full version of 'in-a-gadda-da-vida", ive only ever heard the radio edited version, 17 minutes should be brilliant, pretty sure it will be 'smoke' time when it is on, but i gotta find Dani's stash first LOL
