RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-04-2025 BOB DYLAN "desire" cd, 1976 a revisit his seventeenth studio album of shitloads, i own them all amazing how an artist can be this far into a career and still be making incredible music IMO but he still gets better from this one too incredible album with sublime storytelling and lyrics. and i have already picked another Dylan album for my next listen also two words.....sheer brilliance I LOVE THIS ALBUM sheer masterclass of storytelling on this one: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-04-2025 BOB DYLAN "blood on the tracks" cd, 1975 a revisit his fifteenth studio album a masterstroke of songwriting on here pure genius, and even that is an understatement IMO I LOVE THIS ALBUM lets go for this one this time round.... RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-04-2025 PETE TOWNSHEND "white city: a novel" cd, 1985 a revisit his fifth solo album it has that horrid 80s production throughout which is just the way it was back then that said though as underwhelmed as i was listening to it it is still a good album and lets face it, whatever i listened to straight after two classic Dylan albums was always on a hiding to nothing stand out track is the one i will obviously link, album would rank around 1.9 overall which means I LIKE THIS ALBUM RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 20-04-2025 ![]() BOSTON "greatest hits" cd 1997 a revisit sixteen tracks from 1976 to a couple of newly recorded songs for the compilation not sure why but i did not really enjoy this album on this occasion so all i can say is.... I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM fav: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 01-05-2025 PAUL WELLER "heavy soul" cd/vinyl 1997 a revisit his fourth solo album and fifteenth album overall his most guitar driven album since the days of The Jam bluesy/rootsy in places and jingle jangle soft rock in others album has for some reason grown more and more on me over the last five or so years and has gone from ranking around 2.1 to a whopping 2.5. over the next couple of days i will be playing what i consider to be two more of his best solo efforts just to see how i view them now. anyway, that raking of 2.5 means.... I LOVE THIS ALBUM RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 05-05-2025 PAUL WELLER "as is now" cd/vinyl 2005 a revisit as mentioned in the above post, i was going to play a couple of my favourite Weller albums... his eighth solo album ive always thought of this being my favourite with its eclectic styles of rock, music-hall, folk, funk, pop, garage rock, jazz and orchestrated..so all of the styles he is good at probably his last reall great album IMO and incidently the final album of his to feature Steve White on drums (who has been there for over 20 years). still a great album, and yes, still my favourite of his I LOVE THIS ALBUM fav on this occasion: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-05-2025 ERIC CLAPTON "crossroads" cd 1988 a four cd set covering the first 20 years of his career from Yardbirds thru his 1980s solo career to be honest i wasnt really enthralled with the blues covers by Yardbirds i wasnt even impressed with the Bluesbreakers songs either i did start enjoying it with the material by Cream, Blind Faith and Derek & The Dominos where i was most impressed was with his solo material, but then again i am quite familiar with a lot of that already all up there are 75 tracks spanning the four disks, some live but mostly studio versions i love the way it is presented chronologically which gives the listener an idea of not only the path he had taken musically over the decades but also the way his guitar playing developed into the signature sound know and all love. i think this overall this set would rank a 2.3 which is a borderline "love" score and very good for such a huge compilation I LIKE THIS ALBUM its so hard to pick one track to stand out amongst all others but on this occasion i picked this fabulous instrumental: RE: What Are You Listening To? - JeromeD - 12-05-2025 Brilliant - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sCEbFRQaIc RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-05-2025 ^^ nice version of the Prince classic, but i still prefer the original RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-05-2025 ROXY MUSIC "avalon" cd 1982 a revisit was never a big fan of the band and never cared for this album..... and still dont! that said, i love the crisp clean crystal clear sounds on cd, from that perspective is if first class i just dont like the actual songs much (Ferry's vocals, the melodies etc). i could probably name every song of theirs i like on both hands and a foot I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM to me this song is pop perfection: |
