What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 09-12-2009 Am listenin' to 'Zzyzx Road' by StoneSour ..
What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 10-12-2009 from my library ![]() The debut from one of the best selling groups of all time. Formed in L.A. in 1971 they would come to define the sound of classic rock, whatever that is.The four founding members were actually from different states in the midwestern part of the country, and had all moved to L.A. to seek their fame. I was not a huge fan in the beginning, but a few of these tracks have grown on me over the years. Never was crazy for the two biggest hits of Take It Easy and Witchy Woman which reached #12 and #9 respectively. I preferred the peaceful easy feeling of Peaceful Easy Feeling. The album reached #22. The bands country influences are apparent here, but that was quickly abandoned for the greener pastures of rock 'n' roll. The band has called it quits twice. Too bad they have to keep coming back. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Tryin' Best Track - Train Leaves Here This Morning I lost ten points just for being in the right place At exactly the wrong time I looked right at the facts there But I may as well have been completely blind So if you see me walking all alone Don't look back, I'm just on my way back home There's a train leaves here this morning And I don't know what I might be on She signed me to a contract Baby said it would all be so life long I looked around then for a reason When there wasn't something more to blame it on But if time makes a difference while we're gone Tell me now and I won't be hanging on There's a train leaves here this morning And I don't know what I might be on 1320 north columbus was the address That I wrote down on my sleeve I don't know just what she wanted Might have been that it was getting time to leave And I watched as the smoker passed it on And I laughed when the joker said, "lead on." Cause there's a train leaves here this morning And I don't know, what I might be on And there's train leaves here this morning And I don't know, what I might be on 1) Take It Easy - ** - live YouTube - The Eagles Take it easy 2) Witchy Woman - ** - live YouTube - Eagles - Witchy Woman 3) Chug All Night - * 4) Most Of Us Are Sad - *** 5) Nightingale - ** 6) Train Leaves Here This Morning - *** - live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZHhp4bB8VA 7) Take The Devil - ** 8) Earlybird - * - live YouTube - Eagles - Earlybird live Holland 9) Peaceful Easy Feeling - *** - live YouTube - Eagles - Peaceful Easy Feeling live Holland 10) Tryin' - * - live YouTube - Eagles - Tryin' live Holland 3's - 3 2's - 4 1's - 3 Rating - 2.0 What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 10-12-2009 Listenin' to 'Sound Of Muzak' by Porcupine Tree. TCV sounds good so far, just about as the interesting line-up would suggest. God bless.thanks for that What Are You Listening To? - Robi83 - 13-12-2009 Tangerine Dream «A Matter Of Time» What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 13-12-2009 from my library Album #3, the first with the lineup that we all know, Gabriel, Collins, Hackett, Rutherford and Banks. The theatrical side of Gabriel breaks out when touring for this album with The Musical Box being a crowd pleaser. Clip #1 is just superb. This album did not even chart in rhe U.S. and only reached #39 in the U.K. It was my introduction to a group which, while yet to reach it's potential, would become one of my favs for a brief time. Prog rock at its finest. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Harold The Barrel Best Track - The Musical Box Play me Old King Cole That I may join with you, All your hearts now seem so far from me It hardly seems to matter now. And the nurse will tell you lies Of a kingdom beyond the skies. But I am lost within this half-world, It hardly seems to matter now. Play me my song. Here it comes again. Play me my song. Here it comes again. Just a little bit, Just a little bit more time, Time left to live out my life. Play me my song. Here it comes again. Play me my song. Here it comes again. Old King Cole was a merry old soul, And a merry old soul was he. So he called for his pipe, And he called for his bowl, And he called for his fiddlers three. But the clock, tick-tock, On the mantlepiece - And I want, and I feel, and I know, and I touch, the wall She's a lady, she's got time, Brush back your hair, and let me get to know your face. She's a lady, she is mine. Brush back your hair, and let me get to know your flesh. I've been waiting here for so long And all this time has passed me by It doesn't seem to matter now You stand there with your fixed expression Casting doubt on all I have to say. Why don't you touch me, touch me, Why don't you touch me, touch me, Touch me now, now, now, now, now... 1) The Musical Box - *** - live YouTube - Genesis - The Musical Box (live '73) Remastered 2) For Absent Friends - ** - audio YouTube - 02 - For Absent Friends | Genesis | Nursery Cryme 3) The Return Of The Giant Hogweed - ** - audio YouTube - 03 - Return of the Giant Hogweed (The Dance of the Giant Hogweed) | Genesis | Nursery Cryme 4) Seven Stones - *** - audio YouTube - 04 - Seven Stones | Genesis | Nursery Cryme 5) Harold The Barrel - * - audio YouTube - 05 - Harold the Barrel | Genesis | Nursery Cryme 6) Harlequin - ** - audio YouTube - 06 - Harlequin | Genesis | Nursery Cryme 7) The Fountain Of Salmacis - *** - live YouTube - Genesis - The Fountain of Salmacis 3's - 3 2's - 3 1's - 1 Rating - 2.3 |
