ADAM ANT "goody two shoes" b/w "red scab" 1982
Adam's first solo single without The Ants...
this "a" side is great,great stuff IMO...right from therolling drums at the beginning,thrugh the guitar sounds and up through the brass section in the middle.
as usual, there is a fun video attached to the single's "a" side...
"b" side,sees Adam going back to his punk roots with a track that wouldnt be out of place on a Public Image Limited album..
single reached a well deserved #1 position here(as it did in the UK also)

DAVID BOWIE "absolute beginners" b/w "instrumental version" 1985
a lost gem in the Bowie arsenal IMO...
it was the lead single off the UK movie of the same name,Bowie also had a small part in the movie which also contained a cameo part for Ray Davies...
its typical 1980s Bowie,you either like that period of his music or you dont, me, i do!

the second most successful all female group in pop music at the time(Supremes were #1)...
i was a big fan of their singles back in the day but i dont like this "a" side now!
"b" side isnt too bad though...

QUEEN & DAVID BOWIE "under pressure" b/w "soul brother" 1981
two suprestars of 1970s/early1980s rock duet together...
sometimes,these collaborations can be disasterous IMO...too much hype, but not in this case!
thos is classic material IMO,cool is an understatement for this one,i mean, its real 'ice,ice,baby!"...
"b" side is just as good also,Bowie isnt on it,its basically Freddie with piano...
man that guy has got some real soul in his soul when he wants to, and that falsetto in the song,brilliant!,
this "b" side was good enough to stand on its own as an "a" side IMO
single only reached #6 here, a real dissapointment IMO

AUSTRALIAN CRAWL "two can play" b/w "instrumental version" 1985
one of the final singles by this iconic Aussie band from the late 1970s/early 1980s...
"a" side is quite catchy with its Carribean beats and brass...
"b" side, another instrumental rip-off for the consumer IMO!
single was one of their lowest charting singles here,only peaking at #44

first single from the newly reformed original lineup of The Animals..
still has a rock sound on the "a" side,
"b" side is more in line with their older sounds...
single failed to chart here,as it did most other places,thus, the re-union was shortlived!

white-boy/blue-eyed soul band from the UK in the mid 1980s,
these guys were one of the first acts signed to Paul Weller's 'respond records' record label..
i have two of their singles,this one is the best though...

i used to like this "a" side, but it does nothing for me now...
much prefer the "b" side now, yet, back in the day i disliked this one

A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS "i ran" b/w "pick me up" 1982
i was surprised when i played this early 1980s synth-pop song that it wouldnt hold up after three decades...
but it does, and pretty well at that too!
"shame the instrumental "b" side is a piece of crap, but most 1980s synth based instrumentals(and songs) sound hollow and lifeless now!
single reached #1 on our charts here which actually surprised me a bit!

its Jet, therefore its in its factory sealed packaging...
"a" side it the third single release from their second album "shine on"...

single reached #49 here and was only available on regular black vinyl and on 7" disc only
