PennyLane Wrote:Went to the record store the other day... I love browsing, and it is even better when I find albums that I want. I made two great purchases.

ok SteveO....

in my initial review of it as a new release i thought it was not bad, but since then i have played it over and over in my car(its an hour's drive to work at the moment) so ive listened to it there and back for three days now...so ive heard it probablr seven or eight times since ive got it...
the rating i'd give for it now would be 2.5ish...i love it.
it starts off with a couple of those jazzy/bluesy feel tracks he seems to do a lot of nowadays, then sort of goes through a bit of country, bluegrass and folk.
most of the tracks last around 7 minutes, one,"tempest" loats almost 15 mintues...its about the sinking of the titanic and its dome with guitar, mandolin, and violin..probably the best track he has done in thirty years...
"roll on john" is a belated tribute to John Lennon, its pretty good also
the rest of the album is very dark lyrically...
this album deserves to pickup a Grammy next year, its classic Dylan IMO!!!!!!!

I agree ! I have been listening pretty much non-stop since its release, and in true Dylan fashion, I am not disappointed. I think it is a superb album. I even reviewed it on my blog. That is how much I love it.

crap!... i popped in to see Corey today(he only works saturday's now due to University committments)...and yet again i couldnt walk out without buying cds....

finally got round to buying the first Mumford and Sons album

and their new one at the same time...

and the new Band Of Horses one...

and Fleetwood Mac's "rumours"

Corey had got a rare copy of Macca's newly re-released "ram" album on vinyl mono for me(apparently theres only 1000 copies been released worldwide), so should be a good collectors piece in the futur, mine will remain factory sealed for that reason!
