What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 21-11-2009 from my library Second album from the San Francisco band formed in 1972. Never what you would consider a chart success, the Tubes live shows were a big draw, with stage antics causing quite the stir (tracks #1,#4). After being dropped by A&M after 4 albums, Capitol decided to give them a try, with a slightly better sales record that didn't last long. They disbanded in 1986, reforming later with no better results. This album yielded the hilarious single of Don't Touch Me There, which reached #61 and the album went to #46. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Poland Whole Best Track - Don't Touch Me There Oooo baby, Move closer to me I've had all that I can stand Take hold of me with your hands Oh baby, You give me the chills Whisper low in my ear Let knows how it feels just to know you are near Your body gives me a thrill as it leans against mine I love how it feels with your jeans against mine The smell of burning leather as we hold each other tight As our rivets rub together flashing sparks into the night At this moment of surrender darling if you really care Don't touch me there Unzip that jacket That leather smells so sweet Put your chest against mine Feel my heart beat I love the way your belt fits The way it hangs so low So low on your hips my darling I want you so I love your sweet, sweet lips I love your salty taste I love your finger tips When I reach for your waist?! Uh-huh... The smell of burning leather as we hold each other tight As our rivets rub together flashing sparks into the night At this moment of surrender darling if you really care Don't touch me there I will give my love forever if you promise me you'll never never never touch me there Don't touch me there Don't touch me there Please don't Don't touch me there Oh no not there Don't touch me there Anywhere but there Don't touch me there Never--don't ever Don't touch me there Do you care? Don't touch me there Then don't touch me there Don't touch me there 1) Tubes World Tour - ** - live YouTube - The Tubes, "Now" Spring Tour, 1977 12 2) Brighter Day - * - audio YouTube - The Tubes, "Young and Rich" Tour, 1976 5 3) Pimp - ** 4) Stand Up And Shout - * - live YouTube - The Tubes, "Now" Spring Tour , 1977 10 5) Don't Touch Me There - *** - live YouTube - The Tubes Live 1979 - Don't touch me there 6) Slipped My Disco - ** - audio YouTube - the tubes slipped my disco 7) Proud To Be An American - ** - audio YouTube - The Tubes, "Young and Rich" Tour, 1976 9 8) Poland Whole - * 9) Madam I'm Adam - ** - audio YouTube - The Tubes, "Young and Rich" Tour, 1976 6 10) Young And Rich - * 3's - 1 2's - 5 1's - 4 Rating - 1.7 What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 22-11-2009 Listenin' to Eric Johnson's ' I Promise I Will Try '. Deservedly so for me, although previous efforts also had my approval. This was their 6th release and was the big one going to #1 with singles of The Logical Song (#6), Take The Long Way Home (#10), Goodbye Stranger (#15) and Breakfast In America (#62). I LOVE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Casual Conversations Best Track - Goodbye Stranger It was an early morning yesterday I was up before the dawn And I really have enjoyed my stay But I must be moving on Like a king without a castle Like a queen without a throne I'm an early morning lover And I must be moving on Now I believe in what you say Is the undisputed truth But I have to have things my own way To keep me in my youth Like a ship without an anchor Like a slave without a chain Just the thought of those sweet ladies Sends a shiver through my veins And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few (Goodbye stranger it's been nice) (Hope you find your paradise) (Tried to see your point of view) (Hope your dreams will all come true) (Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane) (Will we ever meet again) (Feel no sorrow, feel no shame) (Come tomorrow, feel no pain) Sweet devotion, (Goodbye Mary) it's not for me (Goodbye Jane) Just give me motion, (Will we ever) and set me free (meet again) Land in the ocean, (Feel no sorrow) far away (feel no shame) It's the life i've chosen (Come tomorrow) every day (feel no pain) So Goodbye Mary, (Goodbye Mary) Goodbye Jane (Goodbye Jane) Will we ever (Will we ever) meet again (meet again) Now some they do and some they don't And some you just can't tell And some they will and some they won't With some it's just as well You can laugh at my behavior That'll never bother me Say the devil is my savior But I don't pay no heed And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few (Goodbye stranger it's been nice) (Hope you find your paradise) (Tried to see your point of view) (Hope your dreams will all come true) (Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane) (Will we ever meet again) (Feel no sorrow, feel no shame) (Come tomorrow, feel no pain) Sweet devotion, (Goodbye Mary) it's not for me (Goodbye Jane) Just give me motion, (Will we ever) And set me free (meet again) Land in the ocean, (Feel no sorrow) Far away (feel no shame) It's the life i've chosen, (Come tomorrow) Every day (feel no pain) Now i'm leaving, (Goodbye Mary) Got to go, (Goodbye Jane) Hit the road (Will we ever) I'll say it once again, (meet again) oh yes I'm leaving (Feel no sorrow) Got to go, (feel no shame) Got to go. (come tomorrow) I'm sorry I must tell you (feel no pain) But Goodbye Mary, (Goodbye Mary) Goodbye Jane (Goodbye Jane) Will we ever (Will we ever) Meet again (meet again) Oh I'm leavin' I've got to go 1) Gone Hollywood - ** - audio YouTube - Supertramp Breakfast In America 1/10 - Gone Hollywood 2) The Logical Song - *** - live YouTube - Supertramp-logical song 3) Goodbye Stranger - *** - live YouTube - Supertramp - Goodbye Stranger (videoclip) 1979 4) Breakfast In America - *** - live YouTube - Supertramp Breakfast in America 5) Oh Darling - ** - audio YouTube - Supertramp - Oh Darling 6) Take The Long Way Home - *** - audio YouTube - Supertramp- Take The Long Way Home 7) Lord Is It Mine - *** - audio YouTube - SUPERTRAMP - ROGER HODGSON - LORD IS IT MINE 8) Just Another Nervous Wreck - ** - audio YouTube - Supertramp - Just Another Nervous Wreck 9) Casual Conversations - * - audio YouTube - Supertramp - Casual Conversations 10) Child Of Vision - ** - audio YouTube - Supertramp - Child of Vision 3's - 5 2's - 4 1's - 1 Rating - 2.4 What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 23-11-2009 Am listenin' to 'Street Of Dreams' by Rainbow......nice...IMHO.... What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 23-11-2009 Music Head Wrote:from my library Fine album, Eddie Baby... But have you heard their Brother Where You Bound album ?? ![]() It's so unlike the rest of their output. Dave Gilmour's presence makes it come across as a Pink Floyd album for me, but the reviews of this are almost universally woeful. I've always loved it. What Are You Listening To? - Iota - 23-11-2009 My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 24-11-2009 from my library ![]() So sad to see this fall after the superb debut and the credible second effort, and we've come to this dribble. Mississippi boy with so much promise, being compared to Dylan, and the well runs dry after 2 releases. Obviously my analisys was premature as the guy is still kicking, but that was and remains my opinion of this album. I gave him a couple more chances before I jumped ship. This album reached #70 with no singles charting. Not many clips available which is probably a good thing. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Lucky Best Track - Rain 1) Get Well Soon - * live YouTube - Steve Forbert "Get Well Soon" 2) Cellophane City - ** - audio YouTube - Cellophane City - Steve Forbert 3) Song For Carmelita - * 4) Laughter Lou (Who Needs You) - * 5) Song For Katrina - ** - audio YouTube - Steve Forbert Song For Katrina 6) One More Glass Of Beer - ** 7) Lucky - * 8) Rain - ** 9) I'm An Automobile - * 10) Schoolgirl - * - live YouTube - Steve Forbert - Schoolgirl 11) If You've Gotta Ask You'll Never Know - * 12) Lonely Girl - * 13) A Visitor - ** 3's - 0 2's - 5 1's - 8 Rating - 1.4 What Are You Listening To? - ambernector - 24-11-2009 Maria by Blondie |
