do you guys know how many of Loretta's compilation cds are titled 'coal miners daughter', well i dont, but i think ive seen probably at least ten!
i cant find the cover for my one here, so ive just put up another one for the look of the post!
anyway, this one is a twenty track disc from my favourite female country artist of all time...
four on here are duets with Conway Twitty, one with Ernest Tubbs, the rest, they are solo recordings.
i can never pick a solitary Loretta track off any album as my favourite...couldnt even really five over the rest, as i love most of her material equally, but this time round im going for the haunting ballad "she's got you", but like i said, i could have picked almost anything, which means i absolutely love this album, so there will be no surprise when you see the high score from up near the Van Lear coalmine....

LUCINDA WILLIAMS "essence" 2001
i actually forgot i had this one...thought i only had "car wheels on a gravel road" which i dont like!
anyway, this is her sixth album, not sure what to call her style of music as its not really county, but neither is it really folk, sort of a blend of both with her own unique style also...
some real fine tracks on here but a couple of dud ones also, otherwise i would love this album...
i forgot to write donw my favourite and least favourite tracks for this one while lisyening to it, and im not getting the disc out again to re listen to do so so i will just post links for the four track i do love...
overall, album scores a respectably good 2.2 or 7/10 from me...
