What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 17-11-2009 Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures ![]() Borrowed from Robbie at work. This isn't really my thing, but thought I'd give it a go. Unexceptional riffage, and maybe it's only because of John Paul Jones' presence, but it felt like it was designed to echo loads of old Led Zeppelin sounds. Not impressed... Really loved Do Better. What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 18-11-2009 from my library ![]() London band formed in 1975 with a jazzy rock lineup. I got a Doobie Brothers feel out of it. Never made it to the big time but lasted through 8 albums and a 10 year career. This was their 3rd album and made it to #75, with the single of She Loves To Be In Love making it to #54. Nothing available for my fav. Yeah - I listened to it a few days ago - I do like it but will need a few more listens before I can really stack it up against their back catalogue. Seems a bit poppier though. Do Better did make me smile but I actually liked Mara and Me as well. I've really liked this band for a few years - they're never going to be experimental but there is enough variety in their styles that their songs don't all sound the same and the lyrics are generally quirky and a bit dark but with loads of humour - remind me of The Smiths in this way. Actually - I love this band! (a family favourite as well) What Are You Listening To? - Kazz - 19-11-2009 I am listening to Saving me by nickelback. What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 19-11-2009 I'm listenin' to ' The Joker ' by Steve Miller Band.

Timeless =] What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 20-11-2009 from my library ![]() Debut from this Australian surprise, which held the #1 spot in the U.S. for 15 weeks. The success was short lived as they disbanded after 2 more albums. Introduced me to the vegamite sandwich which I tried a few years ago. I won't have another. Who Can It be Now and Down Under both reached #1, with Be Good Johnny making it to #3 and Underground to #20. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Helpless Automaton Best Track - Down Under Traveling in a fried-out combie On a hippie trail, head full of zombie I met a strange lady, she made me nervous She took me in and gave me breakfast And she said, "Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover." Buying bread from a man in Brussels He was six-foot-four and full of muscles I said, "Do you speak-a my language?" He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich And he said, "I come from a land down under Where beer does flow and men chunder Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover." Lyin' in a den in Bombay With a slack jaw, and not much to say I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me Because I come from the land of plenty?" And he said, "Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover." Yeah! Living in a land down under Where women glow and men plunder Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover! Thought for sure these guys had to have resorted to crap by now, but this was actually very good. Florida band formed in 1965, and still kickin', redneck image intact. After the fatal plane crash that took 3 members lives, they were extinct for a time but reformed after a decade, never missing a beat. I didn't really follow them that much after that, but this album is as good if not better than the early albums for me. I think this would be the 12th studio album, with a lot of live's and compilations thrown in there. Lead single is Still Unbroken, but many others should hold that honor I would think. Album is currently #18 on the charts. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Storm Best Track - Unwrite That Song Well I heard it on the late night radio For the umpteenth time headin' from LA to the Florida coast I was between black coffee and shifting gears When the second verse took a turn and brought me to tears They were talkin' about love, I do and forever And how two people ought to stay together Well the music hit me but the singer's got it all wrong Unwrite that song Unwrite that song 'Cause what he's saying to me don't go with that melody Unsing them lines about those happy times Don't they know she's gone Unwrite that song Well it was 3 AM and she was cryin' and her eyes were all red When that music video came on and she sat up in her bed She grabbed that whiskey bottle Poured one last shot And threw that empty glass at the TV and screamed Unwrite that song Unwrite that song 'Cause what he's saying to me don't go with that melody Unsing them lines about those happy times Don't they know he's gone Unwrite that song Well there was a time that I believed All those words were true And if I had a pen and paper right now I know what I'd do...
