my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "travellin' light" b/w "dynamite" 1959 Cliff's second UK #1 hit, "a" side has that Ricky Nelson type sound to it again, i dont love this track but its still pretty good IMO "b" side is more of a rock song, its good also single only managed #57 here "travellin' light" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca800tcy-B8 live "dynamite" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F16dD0u6VAs audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "please dont tease" b/w "where is my heart" 1960 the fourth of twelve singles in my Cliff boxset, and Cliff's third UK #1 hit... again, the "a" side sounds a lot like the pin-up boy pop from that period... i love this Cliff Richard song... "b" side isnt too bad, but its not a patch on the "a" side single reached #2 here "please dont tease" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MKNxLj9oTM live "where is my heart" ** no link available my "singles" collection - SteveO - 23-12-2013 Gotta luv The Specials!!!! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:THE SPECIALS "a message to you rudy" b/w "niteclub" 1979 my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "the next time" b/w "bachelor boy" 1962 single #5 from the boxset... Cliff's fifth UK #1 hit with this double-A sided hit, strange because his fourth UK #1 hit "i love you" isnt in this set for some reason... "a" side here is a ballad, its not bad, but i love the "b" sided track which, again, sounds very Ricky Nelson... single peaked at #9 here "the next time" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rDjvEk-XrI movie clip "bachelor boy" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUE_EuXm7j0 live performance my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "summer holiday" b/w "dancin' shoes" 1962 Cliff's sixth UK #1 was the title of his first movie... stange thing is, his fifth UK #1 hit('i love you') isnt in this set of singles! love the "a" side, one of his best tracks IMO... "b" side isnt too bad either single reached #3 here "summer holiday" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbajf_rHzys movie clip "dancin' shoes" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6ILkD7TUQQ movie clip "a" side here is my pick of the day for you guys to hear my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "the young ones" b/w "we say yeh" 1962 Cliff's seventh UK #1 hit single is single #7 in this boxset... love the "a" side but dont like the "b" side... single is from his second cinematic movie of the same name, again,Rick Nelson could have sung this "a" side... single reached #6 here "the young ones" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JKtHcM05Dk movie clip "we say yeh" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyVCPIpXn8o movie clip my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD & THE SHADOWS "wind me up(let me go)" b/w "the night" 1965 single #40 for Sir Cliff is a ballad-cum-lullaby, its simple drivel, but not as bad the the stupid lullaby stuff Elvis was releasing from his movies around the same time! "b" side is slightly more uptempo, its an average track also, but not too bad single peaked at #40 here, but got to #2 on the UK charts...i think the #40 is about what it deserved. "wind me up(let me go)" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rscwQYfcwA0 tv performance "the night" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDgSECms_VI audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD "congratulations" b/w "high and dry" 1968 Cliff's 49th single release and his nineth UK #1 hit... "a" side is a cringeworthy sing-a-long piece of crap... Cliff was the UK's "eurovision" representative in 1968 and this song(prior to its release) was the song he performed in the competition... as a footnote, Cliff and "congratulations came runner up, which is, IMO, embarrassing for a proffessional muso to lose to rank amateurs! "b" side is similar in vein to the other side, as it too, was one of the songs he sung on that talent show, but its slightly better than the other "a" side single reached #5 here "congratulations" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us3dQ0nnlHY 'eurovision' performance "high and dry" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w8ZJL9F3XU 'eurovision' performance my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD "miss you nights" b/w "love is enough" 1975 Cliff's 74th single release and one of my favourite singles by him... "a" side is a superb ballad, yet this one failed to sell in vast quantities for some reason, it peaked at a low #15 in the UK and olny reached #100 on our charts here! "b" side is,IMO,another great piano balled from Sir Cliff, and as you guys know, im not a huge fan of of his music "miss you nights" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvJmOCuL8vQ video "love is enough" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQS8iucJ4G4 audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-12-2013 CLIFF RICHARD "devil woman" b/w "love on" 1976 Cliff's 75th single release and #11 of 12 in this boxset... Cliff goes almost disco on us with this one and i still like it, "a" side has sort of a Little River Band feel to it... "b" side is a ballad, i dont like this one... single peaked at #9 in his homeland but reached #3 on the charts here "devil woman" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTp_Yy9QHBw video "love on" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6Rj4m8nvYE audio |
