SteveO Wrote:I have a considerable amount of the Dead but I was intrigued by Mark Tremonti !...I was never really into Creed but I listened to his next band Alter Bridge - Live at Wembley Stadium and LMD I can truthfully say that it's a fantastic live set !!!!....Now I'll check out his solo album for sure !...Apparently he's a very good metal guitarist according to Guitar Magazine....number one the past three years and number 4 metal guitarist ever !!!!!...however I don't consider Alter Bridge as "true metal"...sort of folky hard rock so to speak...hard to categorize the music ...all I know is I LOVE IT !!!!!...thanks LMD !

[Image: h5.gif] Glad to hear you enjoyed it man. I wouldn't call AB metal either, I think they're more just rock. Significantly better than Creed though, in my opinion. "All I Was" is pretty different from Creed and AB though, its definitely a lot harder. Tremonti has always been more a fan of metal stuff. Didn't know he was rated so high though individually, I know guitar magazine's reader poll had AB's "Blackbird" voted the best guitar solo of all time. That was interesting, for lack of a better term.

Hope you enjoy "All I Was" though.

Not too much really. Its the 6th album from the band (Though they're apparently trying to pretend that their 5th didn't exist. That one was the first released on a label, and the label sucked. Pretty generic main-stream rock album and overall a giant disappointment. Led to them getting a release and going back to independent.) and supposed to be a 6 song EP with a follow-up released in December. Probably my favorite band in recent memory, and their last independent album ("Faces and Four Letter Words Deluxe Edition") is one of my favorite albums of all time. Just really excited to hear them back in their own style. They bill themselves as "Melodic Rock" but they've been all over the spectrum with harder rock on their debut, and then a bunch of acoustic ballads on the next 2, and back to rock. They seem to be going more rock on this album so far from the 2 bits they've released so far (A cover of Goyte's "Somebody That I Used To Know" to get back in the hang of producing after the label handled that on their last album, and a 1:30 sample from the E.P.)

If you're interested in the sample that's been posted so far its at the pre-order site;

Thanks for the sound clip LMD ! I really liked it...another band to explore ...LOL.....interesting you mentioned Tremonti's Blackbird solo as he plays a little of it on AB's live album!
