That’s far, far better than the other Subtle Q track you posted. The drummer for instance doesn’t sound like he’s about to nod off and the lead vocalist isn’t pushing himself too hard.
The recording engineer (if there was one) needs to be slapped on the wrist. About half way through there’s either a very wrong choice by the lead guitarist in using distortion or the mike or something else is overloading. May work with punk rock but is this track meant to be punk? To my ears there’s way too much of that 'recorded in a very small room sound'. But hey, not everyone has the resources to record in state of the art studios. One way around that is to use some of today’s really good amateur recording technology but record in a larger space like a church hall etc.

Mike Oldfield's Discovery. I think it's great. Jeez - Maggie Reilly's voice is just incredible. Very 'together' album all round IMHO. Simon Phillips both producing and drumming ... his timing is impeccable.

A superb album. Funny thing is that when it comes to 'best drummer' polls he's almost never mentioned - and he is light years ahead of the rest of the pack. I think people are too  impressed by the 'flash' aspect of drumming instead of listening to the underlying structure of what the guy is actually doing. Someone once said - can't remember who - that the spaces between the notes are just as important as the notes themselves. Mr. Phillips understands that concept.
