CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:THE BEATLES "magical mystery tour-ep" 1967 my "singles" collection - SteveO - 12-12-2013 Right up there as the greatest R n B song!!!! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:MARVIN GAYE "sexual healing" b/w "instrumental version" 1982 my "singles" collection - Noor47 - 20-12-2013 i have no idea mate....ive never really counted them....i guess we'll roughly know by the amount of posts we get to at the end, my guess is 1000+ played ones, not counting the colectors ones my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-12-2013 SINITTA "right back to where we started from" b/w "i just cant help it" 1989 US born but based in the UK.... a cover of an old song updated musically for that period... "a" side isnt too bad for a cover. "b" side is crap! single made it to #6 here "right back to where we started from" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2RXgHfqYx0 vevo video "i just cant help it" * no link available my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-12-2013 FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS "blue" b/w "wade in the water" 1985 was this the fourth or fifth single from their debut album, i cant remember??? after their superb Elvis cover, this is my favourite FYC "a" side... "b" side isnt too shabby neither single peaked at #13 here "blue" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7e63qRuJ_w video "wade in the water" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7e63qRuJ_w audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-12-2013 SHAKIN' STEVENS "this ole house" b/w "let me show you how" 1981 the Welsh Elvis' breakthrough single... a cover of the old Rosemary Clooney hit... love this one moreso than her original version, great, great song IMO, love the video also "b" side is a self composed track, its not too bad neither single reached #1 here and in the UK "this ole house" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgoDYK3IlGg tv performance "let me show you how" ** no link available my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-12-2013 CROWDED HOUSE "better be home soon" b/w "kill eye" 1988 Neil finn at his very best with this little gem of a song... this "a" side is pop perfection, perfect lyrics,music,vocals,melody...nothing amiss here, even McCartney would have been proud to have written this one! "b" side is more uptempo, with what i'd call rough, jagged guitar chords and vocals... "a" side is from their second album, "b" side is from heir debut album.. single peaked at #2 here, should have got to #1 but i guess they werent home in time! "better be home soon" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQOlwMKpmvQ vevo video "kill eye" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBBwqXeMfyQ live tv performance my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-12-2013 BAD MANNERS "ne-ne-na-na-na-na-nu-nu" b/w "holidays" 1980 UK Ska group, had a few minor hits out there including ska versions of "can-can" and "my girl lollipop"... this "a" side is stupid, but fun...cant wait to check out the video for it... "b" side is a piece of crap like most UK ska really was... and what else would you possibly expect from a band whose vocalist goes under the name Buster Bloodvessel??? single failed to chart here(my disc is part of a five single boxset with singles from five different ska bands, the rest follow after this one!) "ne ne na na....." ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8O_VM89EXA video "holidays" * no link available my "singles" collection - SteveO - 22-12-2013 Both songs for some reason seem Beatlistic to me!!!!...great stuff mate! CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:CROWDED HOUSE "better be home soon" b/w "kill eye" 1988 my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-12-2013 they are most certainly that SteveO! ive always thought that Neil Finn and ELO are the closest things you will ever find that would sound like The Beatles would if they were still around today, or at least, have the most Beatle-esque sounds without sounding corny or 'forced'. |
