What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 14-05-2014 Tangerine Dream - Mota Atma - one of my favourites by them. What Are You Listening To? - jazzboCR - 14-05-2014 The voices inside my head who keep saying, "Post more Blues!" What Are You Listening To? - Vinicius Cabral - 18-05-2014 Vaporwave...all of it. As well as some real 80s stuff (it's source material). Great things like Spandau Ballet What Are You Listening To? - Aurora HQ - 20-05-2014 This song What Are You Listening To? - Joshpop - 06-06-2014 Been buzzing about this remix package from Peppermint Heaven, Full Intention remix is the one! What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-06-2014 ![]() JAMES BLAKE "james blake" cd, 2010 career stats: studio albums.....2 singles..............10 this album: #9 UK, #32 AU, #123 US singles: "limit to your love"...........#39 UK "the wilhelm scream".......#136 UK "lindesfarne/unluck".........no chart entry this one is his debut set, was recommended to me by Tem..aint nowhere near as bad as his Portishead/Radiohead reco's though! very ambient electronic stuff happening on this one.. lots of sparse sounds like Portishead though. overall sound is okay though, probably a cross between those portishead guys and say Moby, his "play" album cones straight to mind here. lots of sound bytes/samples from what i can hear...some of that dreaded vocorder stuff also.. it does sound a bit self obsessed and over self-indulgent though. its okay as an overall piece though I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: lindisfarne I best track: the wilhelm scream tracks: 1. unluck ** 2. the wilhelm scream ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isIABK-0ohQ video 3. i never learnt to share ** 4. lindisfarne I * 5. lindisfarne II ** 6. limit to your love ** 7. give me my month ** 8. to care(like you) ** 9. why dont you call ** 10.i mind * 11.measurements ** 3s=0 2s=9 1s=2 rating: 1.8 What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 18-06-2014 Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 7-13 - The long awaited sequel to Oxygene. It does not disappoint. He went back to all the old analogue synths to recreate the feel of the original and he has done it to perfection. Real electronic music. http://youtu.be/lVEAk5Lpwf0 What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 19-06-2014 For all you 'pot' heads out there - http://youtu.be/GCyiDaM3boc What Are You Listening To? - jazzboCR - 19-06-2014 Jerome Wrote:For all you 'pot' heads out there - http://youtu.be/GCyiDaM3boc Nice pun and thanks for sharing this mini-doc. I've always been fascinated by that first synthesizer, the theremin (been around since the 1920's and found by accident).: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNoR-SR5t1s What Are You Listening To? - ZeusMoose - 20-06-2014 It's been hard to find modern electronic music that I like. House, Trance, Techno ...most of that stuff just annoys me . I've always loved synths, from the first Who, Walter Carlos, ELP , Tangerine Dream kinds of things, but like with all music, I'm just really, really hard to please. I do find some gems in with the psychedelic area , and out of that, there's Shpongle, and from them, there's this wonderful bit of work : 'Invisible Man In A Fluorescent Suit ' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8D6ibgPKY8 5:20 and later is sublime and another one from the same cd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VREsnmhFmlQ Simon Posford and Raja Ram .... they're the real deal . As tripped-out as anything needs to be, but sophisticated, original, and musically engaging . Complex, but not annoying :biggrin1: (except for the ones that annoy me )
