Things started changing when Steppenwolf did Born to Be Wild and Iron Butterfly did In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and Led Zeppelin formed in 1968.

From there we get Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, etc., etc. .....and Metal was born and spawned all sort of great sounds and bands.

I was 14 in 1968...a great time to alive.

i was around 12 back in '78, just emigrated to Australia not long before and AC/DC and KISS were huge here, so i guess they were my introduction via the radio...i fell in love with KISS immediately, took till the "back in black" album for AC/DC to hit me between the eyes.
a couple of years later Iron Maiden released "run to the hills" and "number of the beats" singles which also got me, along with Meatloafs "Deadringer" and Jim Steinman's "bad for good"....
after that i went back in time and rediscovered Slade,Led Zep,early Who and Beatles "helter skelter"....good heavy rockers!!!
