Australian "singles" charts or week ending 18th March:


Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ has notched up its tenth consecutive week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The last single to spend ten straight weeks in the top spot was LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ in April-June 2011. On this week’s Singles Chart, Sheeran holds 14 spots in the top 50, including three spots in the top ten. ‘Galway Girl’ is the only track to have moved up the chart, climbing from #10 to #7.
In its fourth week in the top 50, Bruno Mars’ ‘That’s What I Like’ hits the top ten for the first time. It becomes Mars’ ninth top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart.
After dropping top #17 last week, Jon Bellion’s ‘All Time Low’ jumps back up to #10, one spot below its previous peak.
After two straight weeks at #23, Jax Jones’ ‘You Don’t Know Me’ jumps into the top 20 for the first time. It’s the track’s seventh week in the chart.
This week’s Singles Chart also features new peaks for Zedd’s ‘Stay’ (#6) and Adele’s ‘Water Under The Bridge’ (#23).
Debuts:
#19: Stargate Feat. P!nk & Sia ‘Waterfall’ – Norwegian production Stargate appear on the Singles Chart for the first time under their own name with ‘Waterfall’. The track features vocals by both P!nk and Sia.
#42: Lorde ‘Liability’ – A week on from debuting at #4 with ‘Green Light’, Lorde scores another Singles Chart entry from the forthcoming Melodrama album with ‘Liability’. It’s the Kiwi artist’s sixth top 50- entry.
#43: Sheppard ‘Keep Me Crazy’ – Brisbane’s Sheppard make their first top 50 appearance since 2014 with ’Keep Me Crazy’. The track gives the band’s a fourth appearance in the ARIA top 50. They last charted with ‘Something’s Missing’ (#35 Jul. ’14).

Australian "albums" chart:


Ed Sheeran’s ÷ holds #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second straight week. This week, Sheeran’s previous two albums, X and +, hold #4 and #8, respectively.
With her massive Australian tour wrapping up its second week, Adele’s debut album 19 returns to the top ten for a eighteenth week, sitting at #9. Both 25 and 21 also sit in the top ten this week; they’re at #2 and #3, respectively.
As Justin Bieber’s Australian tour wraps up, former #1 album Purpose returns the top ten for a twenty-second week. It’s at #10.
There’s big moves on this week’s Albums Chart for Tash Sultana’s Notion (up nine to #14), Guns N' Roses’ Appetite For Destruction (re-entry at #22), Jessica Mauboy’s The Secret Daughter (up eight to #25), Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams (re-entry at #26) and Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A. (re-entry at #31).
Debuts:
#6: Soundtrack ‘Beauty And The Beast’ – Ahead of the release of the live action version of Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, the film’s soundtrack makes its ARIA Charts debut. The album features performances from cast members Emma Watson, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci and more. It also includes Ariana Grande and John Legend’s recording of the title track, originally recorded by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. The original Beauty And The Beast soundtrack peaked at #18 in July 1992.
#16: The Shins ‘Heartworms’ – Five years on from Port Of Morrow (#4 Mar. ’12), American indie stalwarts The Shins return with Heartworms. The band’s fifth studio album is their third to chart in the top 50 in Australia
#19: Laura Marling ‘Semper Femina’ – Laura Marling’s sixth studio album becomes her fifth to chart locally. Semper Femina’s release comes two years on from Short Movie (#30 Mar. ’15). Marling’s first chart appearance was with I Speak Because I Can (#7 Mar. ’10).
#44: Colin Hay ‘Fierce Mercy’ – Former Men At Work front man and ARIA Hall Of Fame member Colin Hay scores his first solo appearance in the ARIA top 50 with Fierce Mercy. It’s Hay’s thirteenth solo album and the follow-up to 2015’s Next Year People.

UK charts for week ending 17th March:

Ed Sheeran continues to prove unstoppable as his new album ÷ logs another week of stellar sales on the Official Chart.The singer-songwriter’s third album has shifted another 304,000 equivalent units over the last seven days to log a second stint at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. Last week the album set a record as the fastest-selling album by a male artist ever with 672,000 sales.
Ed also claims the Official Chart double for a second week, as Shape Of You notches up a tenth week at the summit with 106,000 sales across all formats. All 16 of ÷’s songs hold inside the Top 40 this week, nine of which are in the Top 10. Behind Shape Of You is Galway Girl (2) and Castle On The Hill (3).

New entries and high climbers

Singles
Elsewhere on this week’s Official Singles Chart, The Chainsmokers’ and Coldplay’s collaboration Something Just Like This rebounds three places to Number 4, and Danish DJ/producer Martin Jensen vaults from 25 to 12 with Solo Dance.

Zedd and Alessia Cara’s Stay zooms up 15 places to a new high at 23, rising star Julia Michaels cracks the Top 40 with her debut single Issues, up eight places to 36, and finally, Steps debut at Number 37 with their comeback track Scared Of The Dark, marking the group’s first Top 40 appearance in 16 years.

Albums
Over on the Official Albums Chart, six new albums enter the Top 40, with this week’s highest new entry going to Laura Marling. The singer-songwriter’s sixth album Semper Femina enters at Number 5 to become her fifth Top 10 collection.
Further down, Soft Cell and Marc Almond’s Hits And Pieces debuts at 7, Circa Waves’ Different Creatures is new at 11, and the Motion Picture Cast Recording of Beauty & The Beast enchants the Number 12 slot.

Cambridge rock band Mallory Knox land at 18 with their fourth album Wired, just ahead of US band The Shins, whose fifth LP Heartworms is at 19. Meanwhile, The Beatles’ classic Abbey Road album returns to the Top 40 for the first time in eight years at 21 due to a vinyl promotion, and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is back at 29.

Ed Sheeran records another week of strong sales with his ÷ album on this week’s Official Chart.The singer-songwriter once again holds the top spots on the Official Albums Chart and Official Singles Chart simultaneously this week, with ÷ logging a third stint at Number 1 and single Shape Of You racking up its 11[SUP]th[/SUP] week at the summit.
÷ shifted 206,000 across physical (67% of this week’s total), downloads (13%) and streaming equivalent sales (20%) this week to keep its place at the top. Earlier this week, OfficialCharts.com revealed the collection had passed the 1 million mark – its total figure now stands at 1.18 million (across all formats).

Albums
Drake was Ed’s closest competition this week – his seventh album More Life lands at Number 2 with 63,000 equivalent sales. Meanwhile, Vera Lynn enters at 3 with her new album 100, setting a huge UK chart record in the process.

Two more new records land inside the Top 10: Depeche Mode’s 14[SUP]th[/SUP] collection Spirit at 5 (their 17[SUP]th[/SUP] Top 10 album), and Zara Larsson’s debut So Good enters at 7.
Further down, British country duo The Shires rebound 36 places with their second album My Universe to Number 26, The Beatles’ iconic SGT Pepper’s album re-enters 32 thanks to a special vinyl promotion, and a further two albums hit the Top 40: Rick Ross’ Rather You Than Me (29) and Vera Lynn’s National Treasure (30).

Behind Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You (1), the singer continues to hold the Top 3, with Galway Girl at 2 and Castle On The Hill at 3.
This week’s highest new entry goes to Drake’s Passionfruit, which enters at Number 4. A total of 12 songs from the star’s More Life album enter the Top 40 this week, with his Giggs collaboration KMT also reaching the Top 10 at Number 9.

Elsewhere, Martin Jensen’s Solo Dance lifts four places to 8, and Anne-Marie’s Ciao Adios is up ten spots to Number 10 – her first Top 10 as a headline artist.
Finally, there are three big climbers in this week’s Top 40: Zedd & Alessia Cara’s Stay climbs 11 spots to Number 12, Bruno Mars’ That’s What I Like jumps ten places to 25, and Julia Michaels’ Issues lifts eight to 28.

This week, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for an eleventh straight week. The last single to spend eleven consecutive weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart was the Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ in 1996/97. The last single to spend more than eleven weeks at #1 was Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ 2002/03. There’s ten Ed Sheeran tracks in this week’s top 50. Three of those tracks are in the top ten.
After two weeks at #3, The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s ‘Something Just Like This’ returns to its debut position of #2.
A jump of two spots to #4 put’s Zedd’s ‘Stay’ into the top five for the first time. It’s the German DJ’s first top five appearance.
Bruno Mars’ ‘That’s What I Like’ moves up a further two spots to a new peak at #6.
This week’s Singles Chart also features new peaks for Calvin Harris’ ‘Slide’ (#11), Jax Jones’ ‘You Don’t Know Me’ (#12), Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa’s ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ (#14) and Sheppard’s ‘Keep Me Crazy’ (#38).
Debuts:
#16: Drake ‘Passionfuit’ – The second single to come from Drake’s More Life (debuting at #2 on this week’s Albums Chart). ‘Passionfruit’ debuts in the same spot ‘Fake Love’ peaked at back in December 2016.
#42: Clean Bandit Feat. Zara Larsson ‘Symphony’ – After spending six straight weeks at #1 in December 2016 and January 2017 with ‘Rockabye’, British trio Clean Bandit follow it up with ‘Symphony’. Featuring Swedish artist Zara Larsson, it’s the third single released from Clean Bandit’s forthcoming second album. The track also features on Larsson’s album So Good, which has debuted at #7 on this week’s Albums Chart.
#45: Martin Jensen ‘Solo Dance’ – Danish DJ and producer Martin Jensen cracks the top 50 for the first time with ‘Solo Dance’. The track debuted in the top 100 last week at #52. It’s been a hit already in a number of European countries, including Denmark.

It’s week three at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for Ed Sheeran’s third album, ÷. Sheeran continues to hold three spots in the top ten this week, with X and + sitting at #5 and #10, respectively.
The week’s highest re-entry comes at #15 from Hillsong Worship’s Let There Be Light. Spending its ninth week in the top 50, the album was last in the chart at the end of January. It previously peaked at #2. Hillsong Young & Free’s Youth Revival Acoustic has also re-entered the chart at #43.
With their national tour underway, Client Liaison’s Diplomatic Immunity has returned to the chart at #47.
Debuts:
#2: Drake ‘More Life’ – Canadian rapper Drake scores his fourth appearance in the top three of the ARIA Albums Chart with More Life. The release, which is being described as a playlist, is the follow-up to last year’s album Views (#1 May ’16). More Life features ‘Fake Love’ (#16 Dec. ’16) and the new single ‘Passionfruit’ (new at #16 this week). Collaborators on More Life include Kanye West, Sampha, 2 Chainz, Young Thug and more.
#7: Zara Larsson ‘So Good’ – The second album from Zara Larsson gives the Swedish artist her first appearance in the ARIA top 50. So Good includes the MNEK collaboration ‘Never Forget You’ (#3 Nov. ’15), as well as further singles ‘Lush Life’ (#4 Jan. ’16), ‘Ain’t My Fault’ (#17 Oct. ’16) and ‘I Would Like’ (#16 Jan. ’17). A collaboration with British trio Clean Bandit, ‘Symphony’, has debuted at #42 on this week’s Singles Chart.
#8: Milky Chance ‘Blossom’ – German act Milky Chance scores their second top ten entry with Blossom. The follow-up to Sadnecessary (#8 Jun. ’14) is the band’s second album and includes the single ‘Cocoon’ (#10 Feb. ’17).
#14: Depeche Mode ‘Spirit’ – Electronic music veterans Depeche Mode return with their fourteenth studio album, Spirit. The album comes four years on from Delta Machine (#16 Apr. ’13) and is the trio’s eighth studio album to chart in the top 50.
#21: Spoon ‘Hot Thoughts’ – Texas indie band Spoon score their highest peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with Hot Thoughts. The group’s ninth studio album is their third to chart locally, following on from Transference (#47 Jan. ’10) and They Want My Soul (#43 Aug. ’14).
#29: Vera Lynn ‘Vera Lynn 100’ – Released to mark her 100th birthday on 20 March, the new release from Dame Vera Lynn features her original vocals set to new re-orchestrated versions of her most beloved songs. Dame Lynn last charted with We'll Meet Again (The Very Best Of Vera Lynn) (#21 Oct. ’09).
#32: Gary Clark Jr. ‘Live North America 2016’ – American guitar hero Gary Clark Jr. picks up his third top 50 entry. Live North America 2016 is Clark’s second live album and was recorded during the tour in support of The Story of Sonny Boy Slim (#18 Sept. ’15).
#33: Elevation Worship ‘There Is A Cloud’ – A live album from American contemporary worship group Elevation Worship. It’s their second album to chart, following Here As In Heaven (#27 Feb. ’16).
#35: 2Cellos ‘Score’ – With their fourth album Score, Croatian duo 2Cellos make their second top 50 appearance. The follow-up to Celloverse (#24 Jan. ’15) includes tracks made famous in film and TV productions including Game Of Thrones, Rain Man, Titanic, Gladiator and more.
#48: Chuck Berry ‘Chuck Berry: The Definitive Collection’ – This album makes its debut following the passing of Chuck Berry, one of rock ‘n’ roll’s founding fathers, at the age of 90. It’s the first Chuck Berry album to ever chart in the ARIA top 50 and includes some of Berry’s best-loved tracks including ‘Maybellene’, ‘You Can’t Catch Me’, ‘Rock and Roll Music’, ‘School Days’ and ‘Johnny B. Goode’.

Despite huge first-week sales, Take That couldn’t topple Ed Sheeran’s ÷ from the Number 1 spot. The trio score this week’s highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart at 2, notching up 113,200 across physical, download and streaming equivalent sales.It means Ed claims the Official Chart double for a fourth week, as Shape Of You logs a mammoth 12[SUP]th[/SUP] week at the summit.
Albums
James Blunt scores his fifth Official Albums Chart Top 10 with The Afterlove, new at 6, while Scottish alt-rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain return to the Top 40 for the first time in over two decades with Damage And Joy at 16, and Southampton punk band Creeper are a new entry at 18 with Eternity In Your Arms.
Take That’s 2005 retrospective of nineties hits – Never Forget: The Ultimate Collection – rockets 67 places to Number 25 following the band’s appearance on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway last week; Steel Panther score their third Top 40 album with Lower The Bar, new at 26; and Michael Bublé’s Nobody But Me also zooms up the chart, climbing 41 slots to land at 27.

Singer-songwriter Steve Hackett lands a ninth Top 40 album with The Night Siren, new at 28, Phil Collins’ hits retrospective The Singles bounds 39 places to 35, while Trey Songz is new at 40 with Tremaine – The Album.

Ed’s grip on the Top 3 has loosened, with Galway Girl at 2 and Drake’s Passionfruit climbing a place to Number 3. Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s Symphony lifts two places to 4, and Ed’s Castle On The Hill completes the Top 5.
Meanwhile, Kygo and Selena Gomez’s It Ain’t Me rebounds 12 spots to 7, Issues by Julia Michaels edges closer to the Top 10 at 13, up 15 places, and Bruno Mars’ That’s What I Like moves ten rungs to 16.

Zayn scores this week’s highest new entry with Still Got Time ft. Partynextdoor, entering at 24, Lorde’s Green Light shifts 14 places to 26, and Rag’n’Bone Man’s Skin re-enters the Top 40 at 30 following the unveiling of its accompanying music video this week.

‘Shape Of You’ by Ed Sheeran maintains its spot at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a twelfth consecutive week. The last single to hold #1 for 12 straight weeks was Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ in 2002/03. Sheeran has eight tracks in total in this week’s top 50.
Moving up one spot from last week to #3, ‘Stay’ gives Zedd his first appearance in the top three on the ARIA Singles Chart.
In its second week in the top 50, Drake’s ‘Passionfruit’ jumps up 12 spots to #4. It becomes the Canadian rapper’s sixth top ten single, the first since ‘Too Good’ (#3 Jun. ’16).
A week on from debuting at #42, Clean Bandit’s ‘Symphony’ moves up the chart 24 spots to #18.
Debuts:
#21: Zayn Feat. Partynextdoor ‘Still Got Time’ – Former One Direction member Zayn scores his fifth solo entry on the ARIA top 50 with ‘Still Got Time’. Featuring Canadian rapper Partynextdoor, the track is the first to be released from Zayn’s forthcoming second album. His duet with Taylor Swift, ‘I Don't Wanna Live Forever’, sits at #19 on this week’s chart.
#29: David Guetta Feat. Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne ‘Light My Body Up’ – French producer David Guetta picks up his first solo top 50 entry since ‘Bang My Head’ (#21 Dec. ’15) with ‘Light My Body Up’. The track marks Guetta’s fourth single with Nicki Minaj, following on from ‘Where Them Girls At’ (#6 May ’11), ‘Turn Me On’ (#3 Jan. ‘12) and ‘Hey Mama’ (#5 May ’15). Lil Wayne previously featured on the Guetta track ‘I Can Only Imagine’ (#47 May ’12). Guetta recently collaborated with Robin Schulz on ‘Shed A Light’ (#23 Jan. ’17).
#32: Future ‘Mask Off’ – After peaking at #39 earlier in March with ‘Selfish’, American rapper Future grabs a new ARIA Singles Chart peak with ‘Mask Off’. It comes from Future’s self-titled fifth album (#42 Feb. ’17).
#35: Kendrick Lamar ‘The Heart Part 4’ – ‘The Heart Part 4’ gives American rapper Kendrick Lamar a third entry in the ARIA top 50 and the first since ‘King Kunta’ (#32 Feb. ’16). The track is the first from Lamar’s forthcoming fourth studio album, rumoured to be released on 7 April.
