Gee what a shame. Somebody strapped them down and did this to them, no doubt. What does this say about the artist? No, really?. Bad choices? Made bad art afterwards? I sure wouldn't want to be defined by my previous lack-luster companions and relatives (everything is relative, Eninstein says...Heisenberg agrees.). Is this the best that can be done, definitionally speaking? Then of course "drug overdoses" is a pretty loose term--you can get too much a dose of blood thinners or nicotine. Did you know that e-cigs have 5X the dosage of ammonia as tobacco-leaf cigs? Last note: These facts fit how many others in this category, drug OD deaths being common in a certain era for artists and their surrounders? All I'm asking is: Please tighten it up, Bro.

So much for discussion, which to me means an honest airing-out of opinions, some of which may not be pleasing. "This is my sandbox...". When was the last time an artist was covered here, deeply, with personal commentary? (cut-and-paste from AMG hardly applies). And how many Intros from far-flung lands have had other than perfunctory "Howdies"? What do you want this Board to be? Just fun 'n' games or tap-dancing on thin ice? Another time-out for pissing in the pool? I'm OK with that--y'all have your tight-knit circle and you''re OK with that. Big question: Are you really that thin-skinned that you can't abide any questioning about means, methods, modes or modalities? I once went to a thought-to-be-friends house who was a model railroader. I touched 2 trees and and a garbage truck. i have his 2011 release "how to compose popular songs that will sell" album on cd, i also own a couple of Boomtown Rats albums on vinyl.
that album has bneen previously posted by me...it is very,very good IMO

unfortunately for Bob he is only remembered for one song outside of the UK(i dont like mondays) and that one details America's first real publicised "school shooting",
he is also known for his endless campaigning of the starving millions in Africa, and of course the death of his ex-wife and daughter from drug overdoses. his so-called best friend Michael Hutchence had an affair with his wife which caused the end of his marraige(yes,it takes two to tango)...
so he is known more for those things than his music generally...
lets not forget it was almost a year before USA For Africa released that abysmal "we are the world" song that he wrote(with Midge Ure of Ultravox fame) the "do they know its xmas?" song and assembled Band Aid to record it, and was responsible for the bringing together of hundreds of artists all over the world to give their time and money to the whole Live-Aid project...

....that said about their music, i think Joel and Benji Madden are really cool down-to-earth guys...
ive seen them interviewed and also seen Joel on one of those reality shows as a house-judge,his critique of the contestants is honest without being patronising...
as people they seem like really great guys....now, if they could only start making music i like...?!
