What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 09-06-2013 The Most Beautiful Girl is my favourite Charlie Rich song ever, simply love that track What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-06-2013 ![]() TAYLOR SWIFT "fearless" cd, 2009. #1 US country, #1 US, #1 AU, #5 UK 2010's "speak now" was my introduction to the music of Swift...followed that up with her debut and this one, followed by the superb "red" album... this one is probably as close to country as she gets(along with the debut self titled set), they would fit here, the other two would be classed as pop albums... the track listing on the Aussie version is differnet to that of the US version as it contains three bonus tracks(well not bonus really) as they are tracks that were also on her US debut album, which arent on her Aussie debut album...just dont understand why recording companies feel the need to do that crap! as she was only eighteen or nineteen when she recorded this one i find it hard to believe she had all those previous 'serious' relationships that she sings about, so i guess that makes her a good observer of life or she is simply a good storyteller??? was surpised to find she only lifted two singles off this one, considering the album sold almost seven million copies, thought the record company would have milked it for what it was worth...the two singles were "love story" which reached top5 in UK/US, but managed to hit the #1 spot here, and "white horse" which made it to #13 in the US, #41 here and #60 in the UK.... one of the so-called bonus tracks, "our song",which incidently is my favourite one here, and off her US debut set also reached the #1 spot in the US on the country charts, making Taylor the youngest artist to write and perform a #1 US country hit...this album also spent an unprecedented 36 weeks at #1 on the US country charts... all up, a very, very good album by a then country singer, this album IMO, is her second best one, after the latest one "red"... I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: hey stephen best track: our love tracks: 1. fearless ** 2. fifteen ** 3. love story ** 4. hey stephen ** 5. white horse ** 6. you belong with me *** 7. breathe ** 8. tell me why *** 9. you're not sorry *** 10.the way i loved you ** 11.forever and always ** 12.the best day *** 13.change *** 14.our song *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb2stN7kH28 vevo video 15.teardrops on my guitar ** 16.should've said no *** 3s=7 2s=9 1s=0 rating: 2.4 What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 10-06-2013 ^^ this is the only Taylor album I have heard daughter has it I like it What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 10-06-2013 me too !...lol...get busy Crazy ! Not that I ever expect them to equal I And Love And You. I at least wanted a couple of love tracks on a first listen. A few potential growers, so it could happen at some point. This is the groups seventh studio album. After hearing I And Love And You, I fell in love with them. Enough to go back and pick up the previous 3. At this point, this one doesn't surpass any of those. Rick Rubin produces this one, as with the previous, so I can't blame it on that. Live And Die is the only listed single. It didn't chart, but the album hit #4 here and #8 in Canada. What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-06-2013 ![]() JOHNNY CASH "johnny cash at san quentin:the complete 1969 concert" cd,1969 history lesson: 1967,Cash finally got off the hard drugs and booze that had haunted/hampered his career through the 1960s,he went to Folsom Prison for the umpteenth time to perform where he recorded a live album...it was a massive hit... 1968Cash married longtime lover June Carter... 1969Cash returned to San Quentin(california's notorious maximum security pen) and recorded a follow up to the Folsom Prison album...and his career was resurrected again this album has to rate as one of the best live albums ever recorded, you can feel the tension in the recording, along with the electricity that was in the air that night... Cash, banters with the 200+ murderers, sex offenders and death row inmates...he jokes about prison life, the food, the water, the conditions, and takes off the cufff requests from the inmates for over an hour...those guys were eating out of his hands for the duration and even probably forgot they were in prison for that short while... Cash sings numerous songs from his back catalogue along with some new ones never before sung...he wrote the song "san quentin" the night before the performance, and such was the response from the captive audience(pardon the pun) he sung it again much to the dismay of the Warden! another one, "wanted man" was written with Bob Dylan earlier that week and details the story of a man on the 'lam'... "i dont know where im bound" was apoem written by an inmate there and he put music and a tune to it that day for inclusion into the show... but the most famous of the new songs was "a boy named sue", which he also learned the night before the show, this one has the inmates in raptures...i guess they could see the funny side of such a song.... all up, a brilliant live set, one that every serious music fan should own...this is Johnny Cash at his best IMO...2.8 or 9/10 What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 12-06-2013 ^^ reminds me, I forgot to answer you no I don't have either JC prison album so yes, shame on me |
