What Are You Reading ? - Jerome - 29-10-2013 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:...because ALL religion is basically the same! Well said Crazy. The truth of the matter is that very, very few people can see both sides objectively. We are all raised a certain way and that tens to rub off on us. I would like to see a new generation emerge that are not influenced by anyone's teachings. i.e. not indoctrinated. It would be interesting to see what they would make of life without these external pressures and influences. They might even be able to teach us a thing or two. What Are You Reading ? - Lovely Linda - 29-10-2013 I'm out of here. This place is too Liberal for me. I'm not mad with anyone. I just don't fit in. What Are You Reading ? - SteveO - 29-10-2013 Islam, Christianity and Judaism all have a GOD! ![]() What Are You Reading ? - Lovely Linda - 29-10-2013 ......But we have a God that laid down His very life for us. Jesus said he that hath seen me hath seen the Father. What Are You Reading ? - Jerome - 30-10-2013 Correction - His son's life. What Are You Reading ? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-10-2013 lyrics: PAUL WELLER "all good books" 2002 if Jesus could hear us now bending all the words of which he is proud... the carpenter was only making invitations and voicing the opinions of others sending down a word that travels well only as a vessel, as a bell... and the violence youve mistaken, in the words you took to be taken... and the images of hatred are against all that we're worth -all that we love -all that you give -al we hold dear. if Mohammad could see us now shaking down the wall but not as prayer. and the power games that play out- and the lies that come within out are against all we are worth -all that is true -all that we love -all we dream of -all that you give. What Are You Reading ? - Lovely Linda - 30-10-2013 I have tried my best to not argue with anyone. I don't like to argue Christianity. It doesn't feel right to me. I have been a Christian since I was a young child and if I say something I can back it up with the Holy Bible but I refuse to argue. So I'm done with this conversation. What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 01-12-2013 Henry Kissinger - Years Of Renewal - 1999 ![]() Whew! 1100 pages, and Henry is not light reading. This is the last of 3 volumes of his memoirs. Don't have the other 2 but I have read another of his books. The man has a lot to say. This volume deals with the Ford years and the end of Henrys reign as Secretary Of State. He takes us around the world (Soviet Union, China, Africa, South America, Europe, Middle East) on his quest for world peace. Jumps in after Vietnam has fallen so there is not much on that. Henry had a knack for making you think he knew what he was doing. Not so sure he wasn't winging it most of the time. Not much more diplomats can do, get somebody to sign a paper and hope everything works out. Makes you look good in the history books, regardless of the outcome.
