What Are You Reading ? - TraceNspace - 30-09-2013 Music Head Wrote: This sounds very interesting. My In-laws fled Cuba in the 1970's. My Father-in-law worked 2 years in a sugar cane field in exchange for being able to leave. My mother-in-law took a plane to Spain and then headed to the U.S. where they met each other. I was just talking to my son the other day about communism and why his grandparents left it for the U.S.A., I think it's an interesting part of their family history that they should know about and I'd like to know more of the history myself. What Are You Reading ? - TraceNspace - 30-09-2013 I have finished the first 5 books in the Game of Thrones series. I am patiently awaiting the 6th and 7th. I really like this series. I'd give it *****five stars. Right now I'm reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Gooodkind. It's not nearly as good but it will do while I wait ![]() What Are You Reading ? - PennyLane - 02-10-2013 Just finished this book, great read ( I am bias though, because my mentor wrote it, but definitely worth the read either way) ![]() What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 09-10-2013 ![]() Nothing to do with Christmas so the title doesn't fit. Story about a NYC middle class family whose lives are torn apart by the murder of the teenage son by a street thug. Focus on the father, Mr. Ives who remains in a state of depression for years after the event. Mainly about his life and how he deals with it. Covers about 40 years with the familys priest always pressuring Mr. Ives to forgive the man who reforms and becomes a model citizen. Mr. Ives is 75 years old before he breaks down and goes to visit the man and all is forgiven. The book is about dealing with a tragic event and forgiveness in general. Grade - A next up - Years Of Renewal by Henry Kissinger What Are You Reading ? - PlattHillSpirit - 10-10-2013 A several month old Fortean Times magazine. I love all the weird myths, legends and ghost stories as well as the real life strange happenings. Sometimes the truth really is stranger than fiction. What Are You Reading ? - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-10-2013 ...because ALL religion is basically the same! ALL religions are peaceful and full of love....it is idiots on ALL sides that twist the words to suit their own purpose... and Jesus Christ is actually classed as a prophet in Islam. to understand both sides of any arguement/issue you need to be able to see both sides equally to make an informed decision of pros and cons of both...
