RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 27-02-2018 Blue Oyster Cult - Joan Crawford - have not heard this for a long time - great stuff. RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 02-03-2018 Supertramp - Crisis, What Crisis? Lovely stuff. RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 02-03-2018 Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis - the one and only solo album from the brains behind Talk Talk. Very minimalist and introspective - something to listen to while you watch the snow falling outside. RE: What Are You Listening To? - Ruby - 06-03-2018 I’ve heard a couple of John Illsley’s solo releases, but not this one - Beautiful You which is a collaboration with Guy Pearle. Hmmmm – there’s more than a nod to Dire Straits on this particular track – Guy Fletcher and Chris White show up on the album too. Oops - *Greg Pearle - not Guy. RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-03-2018 MOTT THE HOOPLE "the hoople" vinyl 1974: sixth and final studio set featuring Ian Hunter on vocals.... Bowie had long gone from being producer/player and writer for these guys but his influence is all over it... album starts of really well, gets bogged down in the middle but returns to being really good towards the end, so three great tunes, three ok ones then three final very female on the cover is the same one who appears on Roxy Music's debut set...was she a groupie????! good ones at the end... probably scores around 2.1 if I was marking it... two singles off the album: "the golden age of rock & roll" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNmC-ZT-Eak tv performance and the lead off single(my favourite) RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-03-2018 JOHNNY WINTER "and" cd, 1970: Johnny's fourth studio set... blues rock and southern rock on this one... every track is a classic IMO... one of rock's greatest albums IMO... RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 13-03-2018 Mike Oldfield - Five Miles Out - have not listened to this one for a while. Has moments of brilliance and then others of complete twaddle. Certainly not in my list of favourite MO albums. RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 13-03-2018 And this is how to rock boys and girls - https://youtu.be/tUbpwNWmjfI RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 13-03-2018 (13-03-2018, 12:17)Jerome Wrote: And this is how to rock boys and girls - https://youtu.be/tUbpwNWmjfI I love to watch Clapton play, he makes it look all too easy... ive seen 100s of concerts over the years and seeing Clapton 20 odd years ago is without a shadow of a doubt one of my concert going highlights. RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-03-2018 ![]() JOHNNY RIVERS "the best of..." cd, 1999: US 1960s rocker... recorded and had success with a lot of covers but also had a lot of original tracks also... one of my Dad's faves from that era... was a friend of Elvis until he screwed him over and The King never spoke to him again... a good artist from that period and one who still managed to hit the charts despite the tsunami that was The British Invasion... from the album, one of the slower ones, would have loved to hear Gene Pitney do this one, he'd have totally nailed it for sure! |
