""yo! sweetness".................................................. ..................#16 UK
"here comes the hammer".#54 US..#37 AU...................#6 NZ

second album from this hip hop/rapper...
sold ten point five million copies back in the day...
none of the usual foul language or stereotypical rap themes on here that we're now accustomed to hearing on a daily basis...
five covers on here:
The Chi-Lites' "have you seen her"
Earth,Wind & Fire's "on your face"
Jackson Five's "dancin' machine"
Prince's "soft and wet"
only one cover I like on here, and that's the Chi-Lites one, hey, im a huge fan of Chi-Lites and this one
is respectable IMO.
the main concept of the album(well for the most part anyway), deals with racism, poverty and violence in the ghetto's and
a general social conscience...I guess its really a modern version of Stevie's "innervisions" or Marvin's "whats goin' on" albums
I also have Hammer's follow up release on cassette(remember them?), that one is pretty much the same as this one,
a couple of great tracks, a few good ones and several fillers...
all up though, not a bad album for the most part.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: soft and wet (hey, I hate Prince's original version also!)
best track: pray
