Axe - Axe - 1979

Florida bands debut album by former members of Babyface (?). Four albums released before the car accident death of lead guitarist Osbourne in 1984. Disbanded then but reformed in 2000 with 3 albums since then. This album never charted but 2 later releases did, neither with any real impact. The album did nothing for me. Standard 70's guitar/keyboard rock.

I do not like this album.

Hockey - Mind Chaos - 2009

Debut from Oregon band who attracted interest in the U.K. from BBC DJ Zane Lowe after hearing home recorded demos. The demo had been originally scheduled for relase by Sony and produced by Talking Heads Jerry Harrison. Some conflict developed and the band was dropped. After Lowes discovery the band was persuaded to do some U.K. gigs and the positive feedback resulted in another contract with Capitol and here we are. Not a bad debut.

I like this album

Pearl Jam - Backspacer - 2009

Ninth studio album from these alt-rockers. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing outstanding, just a good rock 'n' roll record. Most bands have usually reached burn out stage at this point in their career, but these guys still have the fire.
And they can still crank it down too, as on the beautiful Just Breathe.

Foghat - Boogie Motel - 1979

Former members of Savoy Brown split off to form Foghat in the early 70's moving to the states to make their mark. This is their 8th studio album and the peak had already been reached. Not much good to say about this one. Although it reached #35 on the charts, about the only good track for me was the single of Third Time Lucky

I do not like this album.
