Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-09-2015 Something tells me Biden does not have a chance Steve. Got candidates on both sides I never heard of MH. Guess I need to get back to the news more. Politics - Lovely Linda - 15-09-2015 Been watching the news most of the day. Think I am caught up on everything even reminded of "news" I aready have heard. I don't know about y'all but I am sick of the Hillary emails. Either prosecute or forget the whole thing. That's why I have to leave the news stories sometimes. They get on something and won't let it go. Just the same story everyday. I did see the Trump rally in Dallas tonight. We can say what we want but he is a entertainer. Can't wait for the Debate Wed. night!! What do y'all think of Carson? I will vote for anyone including Trump to keep Hillary out! Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-09-2015 turnoil in Australian politics in the last 24hrs with Prime Minister Tony Abbott being dumped from the Conservative Liberal Government... his successor becomes Malcom Turnbull....a silver tongued fox IMO, I have never liked him but now he is The Boss.... so five Prime Ministers in five years here now.... first up we had Labor Leader Kevin Rudd, he was re-elected at the election yet Julia Gillard overthrew him when his popularity was down, a year later Rudd took his job back. Labor were then defeated at the polls fifteen months ago by the Abbott led Conservatives, now, who says history never repeats? our local Federal member died a couple of months ago and our electorate is holding a by-election this up coming weekend, I volunteered to hand out 'how to vote' cards at a polling booth for the Conservatives but my heart is not in it now we have a new Prime Minister that I dislike.... I guess i'll still do it, because the local Conservative running for the seat is a good guy....ex-SAS who did several tours in the Afghan conflict we are/were involved with. Politics - Music Head - 15-09-2015 ^^ was following that story here AlJazeera being the only network that covered it Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-09-2015 ex-PM Kevin Rudd is now a political commentator on one of your major networks.... he's a weedy, wimpy, creepy non-truthful Leftie....Obama probably got him the job as they are good buddies. Politics - Music Head - 15-09-2015 hey CH must admit I don't understand the process that allows this ouster to take place assume Abbott was duly elected? how is any stability to take place with the constant changing of the guard does this change mean the gay marriage thing will become an issue there? Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-09-2015 the leader of the Party that gets elected becomes Prime Minister(like the UK) anyone in the Ministry can put their hand up at any time to challenge for leadership, as can anyone in the Opposition Party... it usually only happens when the popularity in the Polls tank.... there are 100 elected members of the Liberal Party, all voted to decide who would have the better chance of leading Australia into the next election... Turnbull got 55 votes to Abbott's 45 votes... Abbott now becomes a 'backbencher' with no real authority in the Parliament... its very rare that it does happen but five times in five years shows how unstable the Aussie economy is at the moment... the gay marriage thing has been going on here for a good couple of years now... Tony Abbott has a sister who is lesbian, but he was against the gay marriage thing.... he decided a month or so ago that 'the people' would decide in a referendum at the next Federal Election.... incoming PM Turnbull is a supporter of gay marriage so I guess he will try to get the law passed shortly.... stability: there will be jostling for Government portfolio's over the next week or so, some current ones will stay(the ones who voted for Turnbull) others will be sacked and have to go back to the 'back benches' out of mind out of sight(theyre the ones who supported Abbott)....) meanwhile, the Opposition ALP(Australian Labor Party) are rubbing their hands with glee...gives them ammo to destabilize the Govt even further... its difficult to really explain how it works but that's politics...infighting,back stabbing etc etc.... Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-09-2015 we, the people, did not vote for Turnbull, we voted in the Liberal Party under the leadership of Tony Abbott so to my way of thinking Turnbull is an illegitimate PM.... likewise, we did not vote in Julia Gillard version of the ALP.... Politics - Music Head - 16-09-2015 thanks for the info CH second republican debate here tonight on CNN I'll be recording Trump will be center stage of course let's see how many people he can attack rather than putting forth any policy issues rooting for my man John Kasich at this point Politics - Lovely Linda - 17-09-2015 I'm watching the Debate as I speak. Interesting to me to find out which candidates have a strong connection with George Bush. I'll try to separate myself from them. Those buildings did not just fall down! That is one reason I have got a huge grudge against Bush. BTW, to interupt myself, I just heard the next Debate will be the Dems on CNN on Oct.13th. Getting back to Bush anyone like the brother who thinks Iraq was such a good idea will not get my vote. It took the Middle East into greater turmoil. The troops need to come home! They have been over there long enough! I think John Kasich is a good man but he needs to learn from history, sanctions do not work. Trump is like a broke record with his real estate and what he can build. He knows nothing about foreign policy. We don't need another President in training! I would like to have heard what they would replace the Healthcare Marketplace with (which is a disaster btw). The Repubs keep saying do away with Obamacare but they have no solution. What did dad and son Bush do to solve the problem of healthcare. Answer: Nothing. I still like Rubio. Nice to look at too  He also knows foreign policy but I'll have to check him out further. I know he is friends with Bush but in Rubio's case I'll just have to overlook that mile:I don't want a woman Pres. Dem. or Repub. Carson seems too weak to be President. Huckabee, not as much there as I thought. I could go further but I'll stop there. I do have to say these Debates are entertaining  |
