The music's good, but the production warrants comment. This album has a dense, powerful sound that very successfully emulates the sound of a live band.

Michigan band formed in 2003 out with their 3rd release. First I have heard them and it came across pretty good. Another pop/rock/alt/indie. I stuck 'em here.

Damn, I got some catching up to do. First time I've heard these guys and this is their 6th release since forming in 2000. I'm lovin' it. I actually purchased their previous album Emotionalism, as a download a couple of weeks ago, and it's still sitting there waiting for me to listen to it. Not enough hours in the day, even being retired. North Carolina boys with roots in folk and bluegrass. Although those are recognizable here in some tracks, as a whole I don't think you can really call this either. This is their first for a major label and the legendary Rick Rubin picks up the production chores. Has already reached #16 on the charts with no mentioned singles.
