HOODOO GURU'S "bittersweet" b/w "mars needs guitars" 1985

what can i say, i love these guys, and Dave Faulkner has one of the best alt rock voices in the business IMO also...
love both sides of this single, i guess i just love their sound, style etc etc
single peaked at #16 here...Australia, you are a disgrace to great music!

THE STYLE COUNCIL "my everchanging moods" b/w "micks company" 1984

i'd like to say i love this soul song but i dont...this 7" single version is an edited version for radio purposes, much prefer(and love) the complete 5minute version on the 12" single...
this single has Weller finding the sound he wanted to achieve with TSC, and he does it pretty darn good, again, prefer the complete version, but still prefer the piano/vocal version on the "cafe bleu" album where you can here the brilliant lyrics properly and in full effect!
"b" side is an annoying Mick Talbot composed organ/keys instrumental...
watch the video at your own peril...its crap!, phew!, i cannot find the original video on youtube, just a different one???...strange indeed?!
single only made it to #70 here, but made it to #5 in the UK

What can I say! Great Motown Classic!
CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:THE FOUR TOPS "reach out, i'll be there" b/w "until you love someone" 1966

if the Supremes were my favourite female Motown group,Mary Wells my favourite female artist,Marvin my main man there, then Four Tops would be my favourite
Motown boy-band...
that said, i love their signature tune, "b" side is very good also(if you like Motown)....
single only reached #62 here....stupid backward Aussies!

Reminds me a little of Bowie! Very good song ...thanks CH, my first listen!
CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:LITTLE HEROES "one perfect day" b/w "just cant wait" 1982

Aussie group from the early 1980s...
this was their one and only hit, "a" side is a lovely ballad about longdistance friends/relatives etc...
"b" side shows why they only had one hit!
single reached a well deserved #2 here...

THE SCOOTERS "stuck on you" b/w "clara" 1980

Aussie new-wave outfit with a life span similar to that of a bug!
dont confuse these guys with the German group with the same name from the early 1990s...
some catchy guitar-driven new wave happening on both tracks, shame theres no links available for these tracks
single failed to chart here

YAZOO "only you" b/w "situation" 19802

debut single from this UK synth-pop duo led by vocalist Alison Moyet, who went on to have a successful career in the jazz genre..
love the "a" side and Alison's deep vocal style.
"b" side isnt too bad neither,
oh yeh, these guys were known as "yaz" in the US i believe
single peaked at #7 here back in the day

BENNY HILL "e.r.n.i.e(the fastest milkman in the west)" b/w "ting-a-ling-a-loo" 1971

Benny was a comedian in the UK, his style was quite bawdy to say the least...
over the years he released a few humorous singles, none were better than this, and none sold as well as this one...
"a" side tells the story of milkman Ernie who wants the love of a customer but he has a rival...two-tonne ted from teddington(who drives the bakers van)...a comedy classic IMO...
"b" side is a stupid nonsense track, but its so stupid, its brilliant...
single reached #1 here, as it did in the UK
