What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 22-09-2009 from my library Atlanta Rhythm Section - Dog Days - 1975 - ** ![]() Fourth album from these southern rockers hailing from, uh, guess. Right. Formed in 1970 from members of Classics IV, memorable for the 60's hit Spooky, and members of Roy Orbison's back up band. This album contained no hit singles and only reached #113 on the charts, but helped solidify their position in their genre. Although their peak had yet to be reached, this album helped put them on the map. Hardly nothing available in the way of clips. Favorite Track - Dog Days Paper fans in sweaty fans Shooing flies away Reflections on a porch A shelter from the scorch When dog days came around Babies squalled As August crawled Past old folks in the shade The weather vane was stuck And white oak creek would drop. When dog days came around [CHORUS] The dog days were scorchers Southern torture But we found an Answer to the plight It was a dog day's night Evening brings The front porch scene A time ro tesr your bones I pray you won't be here Come this time next tear When dog days come along [repeat CHORUS] The dog days were scorchers It was southern torture But we found an Answer to the plight It was a dog day's night Oh, yeah More dog days Oh, yeah 1) Crazy - * 2) Boogie Smoogie - ** YouTube - Atlanta Rhythm Section - Boogie Smoogie 8/27/1975 (Live Audio Only) 3) Cuban Crisis - ** 4) It Just Aint Your Moon - * 5) Dog Days - *** 6) Bless My Soul - * 7) Silent Treatment - ** 8) All Night Rain - ** 3's - 1 2's - 4 1's - 3 Rating - 1.5 During these dog days of summer, when we frequently have the all night rain, we sometimes get a little crazy and are tempted to boogie smoogie. But as you bless my soul, just don't give me the silent treatment when the cuban crisis makes you realize it just aint your moon. What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 22-09-2009 The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour ![]() The rest of the bands' 1967 Psychedelia in one neat package. Some of their best songs are on this... What Are You Listening To? - Fretup - 23-09-2009 Sometimes just listenin' to an old favourite like the one I'm listenin' to at present which is 'I don't want to be alone' by Bee Gees, heal's the soul I guess! Anything off Odessa does it for me. What Are You Listening To? - Frederik - 23-09-2009 The Cure - A Forest. Great song. What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 23-09-2009 from my library Foghat - Night Shift - 1976 - ** ![]() Brit blues/rock band formed in 1968, whose lineup changed frequently over their 30 some year career. "Lonesome" Dave Peverett was the vocalist and passed away in 2000. They remained a tour draw till then. Even now they make the county fair circuit. Their peak was probably the mid-70's and their popularity waned in the early 80's. Over 20 albums to their credit. Most successful song was probably Slow Ride. This album featured the single Drivin' Wheel which is also my favorite. Bad version of Al Green's Take me To The River. Talking Heads did it better. And that's the only clips to be found. Favorite Track - Drivin' Wheel Feelin' good, can't be real, must be dreamin' 'bout my drivin' wheel. Rollin' on, drivin' on, come to me and rock me all night long. We've got a roll goin', too good to stop. Flyin' high, we've got too far to drop. Everybody needs somebody to love, I've got you, and that's love enough. You're my drivin' wheel - You're my drivin' wheel - You're my drivin' wheel Powerful love, steady roll, move my body and it rock my soul. Let me ride, let me slide, got that lovin' feelin', way down inside. You got me walkin', goin' round and around, You got me talkin', but I can't hear a sound. Love comes easy when the going is tough, May be crazy - I may be in love. You're my drivin' wheel, yeah - You're my drivin' wheel, yeah - You're my drivin' wheel, yeah. Every night feelin' high, flyin' right, can't believe all the love that I feel. Easy rider, you're a love exciter, you're my love, you're my drivin' wheel. {Rod - Slide Solo - verse, verse, bridge} Feelin' good, can't be real, must be dreamin' 'bout my drivin' wheel. Rollin' on, drivin' on, come to me and rock me all night long. We've got a roll goin', too good to stop, Flyin' high, we've got too far to drop. Everybody needs somebody to love, I've got you and that's love enough. You're my drivin' wheel - You're my drivin' wheel, yeah - You're my drivin' wheel. Y-o-u-'r-e my drivin' wheel. Keep on drivin' me baby - 'cause you're my drivin' wheel, I love the way I feel - 'cause you're my - 'cause your my drivin' wheel. Let me ride, let me slide, whoo! C'mon baby, give it to me baby. Yea we gotta ride, we gotta ride, we gotta ride, we gotta ride, We gotta ride, ride, ride, yeah. 1) Drivin' Wheel - ** YouTube - Foghat - Drivin' Wheel (Live 99) 2) Don't Run Me Down - * 3) Burning The Midnight Oil - ** 4) Night Shift - ** 5) Hot Shot Love - * 6) Take Me To The River - ** YouTube - Foghat-Take Me To The River-San Diego,6/17/09 7) I'll Be Standing By - ** 3's - 0 2's - 5 1's - 2 Rating - 1.7 Working the night shift has given me a new chance at some hot shot love and she has become my drivin' wheel while I'm burning the midnight oil. I'll be standing by if you choose to take me to the river, but please don't run me down. What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 23-09-2009 The Beatles - The Beatles ![]() More commonly known as the White Album. This is one of my Beatles faves. It's enigmatic, & a bit impenetrable, but I like music that's enigmatic & impenetrable. Happiness is a Warm Gun...
