Ah, but that's just it. The world always has to live with the results of any US election because they are always meddling in other countries affairs. History is littered with examples. And if you think you don't have to live with the results of any of the major players' elections you are dreaming. You think what happens in China, Japan, Russia or the EU does not have an impact on the US? Detroit ring a bell? Here's a clue - keep your eye on the stock markets. China is currently moving from a low-cost manufacturing environment to a service-based economy. Just watch what happens next......

Actually we all live with the consequences of other elections in other nations...
Everything is interlinked in the modern world Jazzbo, I'd have thought you'd have known that...
Only two weeks ago billions were knocked off ALL the share markets in every country with the prospect of Greece not getting another bailout from the EU.
China is now the leading financial hub in the world, when they fail WE all enter recession.

Amen to that. We don't live in isolated bubbles anymore. Globalisation has put paid to that idea. BTW - here's something interesting (and a country I would like to visit in the next few years) - Bhutan is the only country in the world where success is measured by how content the population is with their lot - a so-called Happiness Index. The rest of the world could learn an awful lot from them.

There was a doco on Bhutan on TV here a while ago, I wanted to watch it but come that evening I forgot all about it...
I know nothing about the place at all which is why I wanted to watch it...
Guess it will re-run at some point, I'll watch it then.

It's on my 'bucket list' CH - along with a few million other things.

With 1 huge difference--Perot was never the front runner and didn't have his other party members scared of him. I wish it were so easy to dismiss Trump but you really can't. More's the pity.

I think that was more the result of the Chinese stock market slump. And "interlinked" is not the same as "directly connected"--does the rest of the world have to live with the results of the large and growing income and wealth inequality in the US? No. But we do.

Wealth Inequlity:

That's exactly what that idiot Kennedy meant when he said "ask what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you"...
