What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 30-08-2011 Superb Jazz Album....I also thank Matt for putting it back on my radar !!!!! Now if I could only find Cumbia Jazz fusion by Sir Mingus ???? What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 30-08-2011 [URL="http://www.music-discussion.com/wiki/File:FirstUtterance.jpg"] COMUS - FIRST UTTERANCE (1971) Another interesting English folk rock group I've found !...except this one is different...dark and haunting yet beautiful ! Cult following even today and an ifluence of Opeth. What Are You Listening To? - mtthwibrahim - 30-08-2011 Tiggi Wrote:Glad to see I could turn some other people on that album. Trust me, it gets better with each listen What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 30-08-2011 I ordered a CD copy yesterday, Matt. Looking forward to hearing it at volume... What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 07-09-2011 ![]() Chess Records' 2-disc set paying tribute to one of the giants of the Blues. Dixon wasn't really a front-man - although there are a handful of his own releases here - but he wrote or co-wrote many of the classics of the Blues, and played double-bass on most of the selections here, until electric bass became pre-eminent. Featured artists include Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Koko Taylor, Bo Diddley, Lowell Fulson, Otis Rush, Little Walter, & Sonny Boy Williamson II. Those of you with a taste for late '60s UK Blues will recognise songs popularised by Cream, The Rolling Stones, and in particular Led Zeppelin. In fact, a lot of Zeppelin's first two albums are to be found here. Great collection of great Blues. AllMusic 5/5 stars. What Are You Listening To? - mtthwibrahim - 09-09-2011 Albert Ayler-In Greenwich Village I'd never listened to Ayler before, but I'd often read he was very controversial. I can see why, this easily amongst the most intense jazz recordings I've ever heard What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 09-09-2011 I have some Albert Ayler and listen to Eric Dolphy as well as ANTHONY BRAXTON...there are so many great players ! Steve Lacy is another of those "intense" players .......enjoy ! What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 09-09-2011 SONNY ROLLINS - DON'T STOP THE CARNIVAL (LIVE) A fiery performance by one of the greatest jazz tenor saxophonists of our generation !!!
