Music Head Wrote:yea, he was obsessed with the weight lifting
that and the conquest of the women turned me off

He married into a family of men whose main objective was "the conquest of women", he must have felt right at home in such prestigious company...LMAO.

Jerome Wrote:Ha, ha, ha - I don't know how you guys put up with that heat in Oz.

And overall Western Australia is the hottest State...
I guess a lot of your fellow countrymen love it also because thousands of them live here now and not just the Whites but the Coloureds also...
and all pull their weight and are good hard working law abiding citizens.

They are all trying to escape the chaos in SA - ANOTHER country with too many guns floating around.

I agree, ive heard some terrible first hand stories from several of them...
they ALL left SA to escape the guns and violence for the sake of their children, so they don't have to grow up in that environment...

About 2 years ago or so the number of killings (reported) was about 17,000 per year. Don't know what it is now.

BLACKBERRY SMOKE "holding all the roses" cd, 2015

career stats:
studio albums..............4
singles........................4
"ep's".........................3

this album stats.........#1 US Country...#29 US...#17 UK
singles:
"living in the song".....no chart action

how the heck did this one make the US country charts, its not country, but then again I guess Taylor's "red" and "1989" did so who am I to criticise the music buying public!
this is their fourth album, id not heard of these guys until I randomly picked this one to play as a new release earlier in the year...
its what I would call rock/alt rock/Americana.
I hear Tom Petty, John Fogerty, John Cougar Mellencamp and Lynyrd Skynard through this one, I guess those artists border country sometimes with their music so
maybe it does fit there...
good bar room rock and roll on this one, love the vocalist's voice and the sometimes raunchy guitar work on the more guitar driven songs....
my favourite track here just so happens to have a country tinge to it and I found a great live clip for it....
all up, a fine album from these guys.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Live in Seattle by Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers - I've been a fan of the Boneshakers for a long time and have generally avoided everything done by Mindi Abair so I didn't track this at first. When I realized that the Boneshakers were the same band I have been following I gave it a listen. THIS IS NOT MINDI ABAIR EASY LISTENING JAZZ :clap22: It's rocking blues/jazz and I like it a lot.

MARILLION "a singles collection:1982-1992" cd, 1992

career stats:
studio albums.........17
singles...................36

this album..............#27 UK...#46 Germany...#31 Netherlands...#38 Switzerland

Ruby posted something of these guys a while ago and I remembered the single "Kayleigh" from back in the day, then by chance....
I happened to come across this compilation in a discount bin so I bought it...
I admit I was hesitant what with these guys being Proggie,
but I needn't have worried because this is a pretty good album of their early singles....
I hear bits of lots of artists through this one in little bits and pieces like Moody Blues(1980s MB's), Toto, Genesis/Phil Collins/Mike & The Mechanics...
I also hear bits of Iron Maiden in some of the heavier guitar solos...
not a bad album, but I probably wouldn't buy a studio set(maybe another compilation of their latter singles at some point)....

I LIKE THIS ALBUM
