This has been on my buy list for prolly a couple of years, but can't remember the source of the recommendation. Anyway, I had a look at Amazon recently & found this plus another of their CDs on the marketplace, brand new, for a total of £4.36 delivered !!

Danish band with an eclectic writing style. This impressed greatly, and, as ever, I'm left pondering the fate of another talented band floundering in relative obscurity...

Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs - 1993

This album was a tremendous letdown for me. Just a total mess. I am as respectfull of the legacy of this artist as anyone. But this was just almost total garbage. One of 2 things. Either too many drugs for him or not enough drugs for me.

I do not like this album

Favorite Track - Here I Go

This is a story about a girl that I knew
She didn't like my songs and that made me feel blue
She said a big band is far better than you...

She don't rock'n'roll, she don't like it
She don't do the stroll, well she don't do it right
Well everything's wrong and my patience is gone
When I woke one morning and remembered this song
Kinda catchy

I hope that she will talk to me now and even allow me
To hold her hand and forget that old band

I strolled around to her pad
Her light was off and that's bad

I said, "yeah...here i go..."
She's kinda cute don't you know?
That after awhile of seeing her smile I knew we could make it
Make it in style

So now I got all I need
She and I are in love, we've agreed
She likes this song and my others too

Cos of this tune...what a boon this tune!
I tell ya soon we'll be lying in bed, happily wed
And I won't think of that girl and what she said...

Bryan Ferry - In Your Mind - 1977

Roxy Music front man's 4th solo album, and my favorite. The first featuring all original material. Although Roxy had a loyal fan base, it never transferred to Bryan's solo work with this album only charting at #126. True in the U.S. at least, but in the U.K. he had a much more devoted following, with This Is Tomorrow making the top 10. The only let down for me was Rock Of Ages and I think that was just too much emphasis on the the background vocals. The title track blew me away from the start and remains my favorite Bryan Ferry solo work.

I love this album.

Landon Pigg - The Boy Who Never - 2009

Nashville raised son of a studio musician. One of his songs has appeared on Grey's Anatomy which gained him national attention. Plus gigs on the various late night talk show. My favorite, woe to me, found out it's an AT&T jingle. I'll pretend I didn't know it. Really the only thing that stuck to me. Is that cause it's a damn commercial?

I do not like this album.

The Jane Bradfords - Hide from the cold
