Politics - jazzboCR - 27-06-2015 One great week for the US Supreme Court aka SCOTUS or the Other Supremes; They got it right on 2 major opinions: one resoundingly affirmed the actuality and the language of the ACA; the other affirming that gay marriage was guaranteed by the US Constitution. Together they almost make up for the horror of the Citizens United case that said A) corporations had equal standing as humans in political funding and B) there were no limits on what they could spend. Let the revels commence. Sometimes a tune isn't just a tune.no I didn't Politics - jazzboCR - 05-07-2015 Talk about a one-sided hatefest going on: Abraham Lincoln hated Thomas Jefferson's politics and despised him as a man--news to me too but here's an opinion piece that puts you right there. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/04/opinion/what-did-lincoln-really-think-of-jefferson.html From this piece: "Patriotism without criticism has no head; criticism without patriotism has no heart." >> Nothing was even implied that this was just about current politics. Politics - Lovely Linda - 10-07-2015 Well, I got into the AHC. What dummies they got working there! All tell me a different story. Everytime I think I am finished they come up with something else they need. |
