Debut set from Detroit's 'dirty dozen'
these guys made a pact prior to anyone on them getting a recording contract that if ever any of them made it they would drag the others along in one form or another...
Eminem made it and stuck by the deal they made years before...
this one has all the hallmarks of an Eminem album...skits, serious songs, songs with humour and songs that are downright distasteful and obscene, but for the most part annoyingly catchy...
the single "purple pills" was remaned "purple hills" for radio play and rerecorded to include the word 'hills' as opposed to 'pills'...some do-gooders idea i guess, not that it matters, you get the drift of the song and its subject matter anyway...
its a pretty good record for the genre and one i still enjoy playing every now and then...

the Detroit Twelve's second and final release to date....
you either like D-12 and Eminem or you dont...theres no inbetwen IMO...
again, typical Eminem themes here...humorous tracks,serious tracks,skits,ones that are just disgusting and foul mouthed(thankfully not many of those though!) but always entertaining...
best thing on here is the second single release "how come"....serious in nature,not too much language on it,probably up there with "lose yourself" in terms of quality...
that single was actually the first single(cd-single) my mum bought, and the first single she bought since Tina Charles' disco hit "i love to love" back in the late 1970s...
D-12 co-founder Proof was shot and killed in a Detroit nightclub by a security guard not long after this one was released and D-12 have not released an album since despite their success with it.
one song on here "good die young" actually details the death of another founding member of the Dirty Dozen in "bugz" way back prior to them getting a record deal and Eminem has featured songs about his friend Proof several times since he was murdered.
it is rumoured they have an album set for release at the end of '14 or early '15...but we'll see!
this one is nowhere near as good as the debut set, but it isnt too bad...
