Brad Houser was born on this day in 1960, in Dallas, Texas.

A founding member of The Bohemians, which later became Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, as well as a member of a couple of other bands, including Critters Buggin’ who have a very eclectic, experimental/funk/fusion sort of sound - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6dK4sFafks, and a trio known as The Dead Kenny G’s - LOL! (I’m kinda sorry their music doesn’t appeal to me.)

He is a Reverend Guitars guy - has his own signature bass or two; and he plays baritone sax and bass clarinet.

1932 Patsy Cline
in Winchester, Virginia
Her hits began in 1957 with Donn Hecht's and Alan Block's 'Walkin' After Midnight', Hank Cochran's and Harlan Howard's 'I Fall to Pieces', Willie Nelson's 'Crazy' and ended in 1963 with Don Gibson's 'Sweet Dreams'. She died aged 30 on 5 March 1963 at the height of her career in a plane crash. She was one of the most influential, successful and acclaimed female vocalists of the 20th century. Ten years after her death, in 1973, she became the first female solo artist inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
they call her the "queen of country"...I call Loretta Lynn the Queen of Country, but what do I know!

here's my favourite of hers and also the one that bought a young songwriter by the name of Willie Nelson to the attention of the 'suits' in Nashville

Family Portrait is my favourite song of hers....
pretty sure it was issued as a single out here but it didn't sell..wasn't 'boppy' enough for the young 'uns...
fantastic lyrics in that track IMO

Dean Daughtry was born on this day in 1946, in Kinston, Alabama. He is all things keys related and the only constant member, since their inception, of southern soft rock band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section. I’d forgotten about these guys – nice to hear them again.

This was their biggest hit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyIZ3pYKOQM,

... and, just because ... “Alien” –
