XPLODING PLASTIX - Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt AgentsI came across this at a yard sale last weekend (one dollar Canadian ...we call them loonies in Canada ????).
I love this CD ! Combination of acid jazz, electrofunk and beat music. Very good production.

4 CD set compiling Louis Jordan's (Mostly with his Typany Five) work between 1939 & 1951.
Firstly, these recordings are astonishingly good for their age !!
Musically this traces one of the giants of Rhythm & Blues through a melting pot of Small Band Swing, Jump, Boogie Woogie, & Blues tunes. LJ was a specialist in unconventional subject matter, and delivered it with a large helping of humour. All this would mean nothing if his revolving-door band(s) weren't hot, which they decidedly were.
A blast from start to finish.
AllMusic 4+/5 stars.

Hey Coin,
I see you are into Stanko like myself. I've ben listening to him for over twenty years along with Polish jazz singer Urszula Dudziak and many many other jazz players. ! I love the jazz that comes out of Europe, and the ECM music label !!!
