What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 28-01-2012 Rabbit in the Vestibule - Half Past Four. Just started listening to it a few minutes ago - some great playing on this. Not really my cup of tea but the talent is apparent. One thing I do like about it is that it is totaly unpredictable. Some interesting twists and turns going on. A great production. Well done guys! A lot of thought has gone into this. And a lot of work too. This is going to sound crazy but it sounds like a cross between The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Steely Dan??!!?? Both of which I quite like, by the way. As for a 'genre', I cannot slot it into any particular category - and that's a very good sign. Because that means it is a true original - and that can only be a good thing. A great antidote to all the bland boy and girl bands out there. Long May You Run.........money well spent! Addendum - Track 7 - 'Lullaby' sounds like Yes!!!! This band is FULL of surprises!!! A real Pandora's box of talent. What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 28-01-2012 Addendum 2 - Track 8 - opening sounds like a cross between Vaya Con Dios and Santana. A diverse blend of material indeed! This one might just grow on me. It's quite quirky in places but always inventive and totally unorthodox. What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 28-01-2012 Addendum 3 - sound effects are bloody brilliant. Sounds like the B52's in parts. (track 10) What Did You Buy? - LMD - 01-02-2012 Taking myself out of the album buying game for a while (Its tough being a poor college student. ) I put most of my "Designated for music" funds towards today's pre-ordering of;

What Did You Buy? - SteveO - 01-02-2012 Two great picks MH !..Midnight Train to Georgia and Mr. Bojangles and all the other gems ! I really like the "yodelling" vocals of Thijs van Leer..so different for the time ! And then there's the brilliant guitar of Jan Akkerman ! I wonder what they're doing today ? One of my favorites...and yes Janis is a beautiful ballad with flute and guitar ! [/INDENT] gryphon Wrote: What Did You Buy? - ReggieT - 03-02-2012 I just bought Lana Del Rey's album, Born To Die. I know she's getting a lot of crap for her SNL performance, but I'm liking the album. |
