Recent provincial election in Alberta...The New Democratic Party shocks the Canadian political landscape with an astounding majority government victory! Their leader Rachel Notley becomes the third female premier in Canada! NDP won 52 of the 87 seats in the provincial (like a state in the US) legislature. This is a monumental victory considering that the province of Alberta, oil rich and home of the world famous Calgary Stampede, ...Texas like, was the most conservative province in Canada. The Progressive Conservatives were in power for 44 years since 1971!
