Big Ears Wrote:Mark Knopfler made a great album with Chet Atkins in 1990. He should have done more work as a producer, but I suppose he was more interested in his own records.

Yeh,have it also....very good album

Jerome Wrote:I have it. Superb album. Highly recommended.

Yes. Exactly. I'd link the AMG description but it's surrounded by a Stoli vodka ad with sound which I find offensive--here's a wiki instead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neck_and_Neck
And here's Big Ears' mention--amusing parody with the new lyrics as super-titles in Italian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzGc-gqOrU

^ I use Adblock Plus with IE, Firefox and Google Chrome and I do not get many adverts. Admittedly for Yahoo, I have also had to download an add on for Firefox, in order to avoid ads in my mail list. Sometimes I wish I had not committed to Yahoo mail.

What Are You Listening To? - Ruby - 23-11-2014

Beyond the Shrouded Horizon by Steve Hackett. The final track is truly stellar as are the visuals in this clip. Awesome stuff - love it!! With Chris Squire and Simon Phillips … 'Turn This Island Earth'

What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 23-11-2014

Such a good track, Ruby! Interesting to listen to...I tend to listen to a lot of progressive music these days! So much great exciting stuff out there!

The iconic Tangerine Dream will release a new EP soon!

^Thanks for the alert – will be sure to keep an eye on that. Did you hear ‘Greensleeves’ hiding in that track SteveO? The entire album is worth a listen IMO, and a re-listen, and another one. You get the picture – it’s a must have for proggy ears! Lol!

a double best of set of the career of Dylan up till that point...
only thirty-five tracks on these two discs but it does encompass the best of his material IMO...
pretty hard to find a better compilation of Dylan...

BOB DYLAN "christmas in the heart" cd, 2009

album stats: #23 US, #40 UK, #33 CAN
singles:
"must be santa"..............#41 UK

Dylan's thirty-fourth studio album and without a doubt one that no one thought he would ever do....!
yep,
its a 'holiday' album, lots of traditional songs, hymns and carols on this one...
music is kept traditional with the use of mandolins, fiddles, accordians, piano, flutes etc...
all the monies raised from sales of this one went to charity's to feed the homeless and hungry...a nice jesture by Dylan indeed!
this album had a kooky novelty value attached to it back in 2009, but over the following three or four years it has grown weary and a bit embarrassing.
but Dylan warbling his "ho,ho,ho" in Must Be Santa is still pretty funny IMO
that said, some of the tracks are still okay, but its not really an album most people would appreciate including die hard Dylan fans!

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

What Are You Listening To? - Big Ears - 25-11-2014

It is surprising who has released a Christmas album. Even Billy Idol and Glenn Hughes have recorded them. In Glenn Hughes' case, it is one of his worst albums.

I am listening to Forget the Past by Stretch, who achieved some notoriety by touring as the bogus Fleetwood Mac and were famous for the funky hit single Why Did You Do It? Forget the Past was recorded without original lead singer Elmer Gantry and it was their last before they split. Lead guitarist Kirby Gregory was a member of Curved Air, to whom he has recently returned.

In the mid-seventies, Stretch seemed destined for fame with positive reviews and a hit single. Their albums were all good quality, but they were killed off by what journalist Chris Welch called the 'horrors' of punk, disco, rap and dance music. I recommend them to anyone who likes blues rock or boogie, like that of Status Quo, Foghat, Climax Blues Band or Wishbone Ash.
