Seventh studio album from piano based Miss mellow. My tag as she sometimes zones me out. Not that it's not good. I like being zoned out sometimes. I sometimes thinks her piano playing outshines her vocals. Love watching her play. Always deep lyrics. This is a concept album based on the travels of Scarlet (Tori).

Of 10cc fame. I believe this album was released as Ismism in the UK. It was their 3rd album as a duo after leaving the group about creative differences. Did not even chart in the US. Singles of Wedding Bells and Under Your Thumb did moderately well in the UK, which both revert to 10cc roots. Most of the rest is pretty far out there. No clip available for my fav.

The actual title of this album is too long and pointless to even post. It set a then record record for length which has been surpassed. Not sure what the point was. This is the second album and peaked at #13 US and contained 1 single that reached #20, Fast As You Can. Other singles were Limp and Paper Bag which failed to generate much airplay.

Canadian alt-rockers hit big with their first full length album, with me anyway. Wasn't sure they could live up to my expectations after the self titled EP. No worries. 5 singles were released of which Rebellion carted the peaked at #19 in the UK. Not sure what those song titles were all about with Neighborhood # being in 4 of them, other than that word was used in each of those songs. I have used the sub title that was in parenthesis for those tracks.

Laurie Anderson - Big Science - 1982 - **

New York performance artist/avante garde/art rock, whatever you choose to call it, it's just weird, good weird though. Not even sure we can call it music. Some of it is more like spoken word stuff set to some trance like noises. Anyway I like it. This is considered her debut album, but not in the true sense, as she had recorded other works that were not music as such. Off of here O Superman reached #2 in the UK, but nothing charted in the states. There is only a small sample of my favorite track and even less of most of them. At the end I included the B-side of O Superman, which is even stranger than anything on the album. Married to Lou Reed last year.

Great mix of the aesthetic elements (namely the dissonant saxophone) of free jazz and noisy punk rock. Hard to believe this is from the 70's.
