Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-04-2015 jazzboCR Wrote:Here's an Op-Ed piece on Ms. Clinton Lovely Linda might actually like: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/12/opinion/sunday/maureen-dowd-grandmama-mia.html Just to show I don't know everything, here's a word used I had to look up: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ensorcell BTW, "nitpicking" is not spelled with a "k"or a hyphen: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nitpicking << which in itself is nitpicking, isn't it? My bad. I'm not perfect. At least I didn't use a hyphen. Politics - jazzboCR - 14-04-2015 Lovely Linda Wrote:My bad. I'm not perfect. At least I didn't use a hyphen. I'm glad to hear that. Seriously. "The perfect is the enemy of the good." And you are a good person with a big heart. Straight up; no joking. I hope you liked that Maureen Dowd piece--I really think you'd enjoy it. Mudslinging may soon ensue but I'm not going to be doing it...my tongue will get well-bitten but that's a price I'll pay. Truce please? Minute 1 again? Or did I ask before then betray? We'll never be friends--how about not enemies? I go for simple, achievable victories... Politics - Lovely Linda - 14-04-2015 Sure jazz even though we don't agree most of the time, no reason we have to be enemies. Politics - Lovely Linda - 16-04-2015 OK, Let's try it again. What do y'all think about Russia sending missiles to Iran. I would take a lesson fom Cuba when JFK was in office. I'm not expecting Obama to do anything though. What do y'all think about Russia sending missiles to Iran. Entirely different times and situation; you can't conflate one with the other. To start with, there was US control of the waters around Cuba so we could say something and make it stick; not possible with Iran. For another, the USSR had a rational leader not under the intense pressure of a collapsing economy; Russia doesn't. Sanctions are working to restrain both Russia and Iran so military action is not a serious option, neocons to the contrary. They didn't work with Iraq and they don't work with other terrorist countries. I will agree it is different times (a lot worse!). Military action is our only hope. Politics - Lovely Linda - 22-04-2015 Can someone tell me why America keeps wanting to vote for the same people? Clintons and Bush  We need new blood or nothing is going to change! Rubio  Politics - jazzboCR - 22-04-2015 Lovely Linda Wrote:Can someone tell me why America keeps wanting to vote for the same people? Just because folks share the same last name, it appears dynastic. Both Hillary and Jeb are folks different from their namesakes--this is a common trap people fall into: "post hoc, ergo propter hoc"--"After this, therfore because of this." Can you present some credible reasons why Sen. Rubio should be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate? Nearly anyone can throw a hat in the ring and gather believers and campaign funds (I'm waiting for DiBlasio)--very few are fit to be the USA's CEO anytime and fewer still in these parlous times. |
