RE: Covid-19 - Jerome - 14-03-2021

Nowhere near receiving a vaccine yet. Ireland is way behind the rest of the world with regards to the vaccine rollout. There are advantages and disadvantages to that. People are still dying because they have not been vaccinated but it also allows people to see the pros and cons of those that have already received a vaccine. I won't be taking the Moderna vaccine because too many people with shellfish allergies, like myself, have reported very bad side effects. I will probably go for the J&J one if it's available. They took longer to produce the vaccine but I hear good things about it. At the end of the day we are all individuals and we will all respond differently. In this case one size does definitely not fit all. Won't touch any of the ones made in Russia, China or India at this stage. Not enough controls around their testing methods and their clinical trials have been far too short and number of sample cases too small. It's all a bit of a gamble really. I have also heard of people that have received the vaccine and then died of the disease a few days later, Not sure why but it just goes to show that you never can tell. We are all playing Russian Roulette with chemicals instead of bullets. I think many of the big pharma companies rushed their vaccines to market because of the huge sums of money involved. For them it's all about the bottom line. Always is.

It will be a long time until the general public has access to vaccines here - and we now have criminals manufacturing fake vaccines as well! What next??? Probably shouldn't ask! A whole new field of play for devious minds.

I'm not opposed to vaccines per se, but also don't feel entirely confident in what's on offer. It won't be made mandatory to have a vaccine in this country, but if you want to travel, that will most likely be a different story. Can't see some territories welcoming non-vaccinated visitors too easily.

You can add the AstraZeneca vaccine to the list of those I will not be taking. Too many reports coming in citing blood clotting. Not good. I believe it has now been suspended in various countries. Not sure how many.

RE: Covid-19 - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-03-2021

^^
just found an article on that Jerome:
several countries have stopped using the AstraZeneca vaccine
several others have also stopped using a certain batch of it
our Federal Govt has no plans to stop using the vaccine at this stage.

RE: Covid-19 - CRAZY-HORSE - 16-03-2021

BBC news says Italy return to full lockdown with possible "3rd wave" on the horizon after huge spike in new Covid cases over the last week.

RE: Covid-19 - CRAZY-HORSE - 16-03-2021

BBC now says theyre expecting France to go back into lockdown as they too have had an upsurge in new Covid cases this week.

on the AstraZeneca vaccine,
our Prime Minister and Health experts say the amount of blood clots arising from people who have been vaccinated are not disproportionate to those clotting cases in the wider community on any given day so at this stage the AZ vaccine will remain in use.

RE: Covid-19 - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-03-2021
