I can see other peoples perspective and respect what they say about rebellious, but I dont, nor have I ever listened to Metal to be rebellious, I see you guys talking about these American bands and have no idea who they are but I just cant take other genres seriously I mean what else is there, PoP? Rap? Country? Jazz? ok some Folk and Jazz is acceptable but the others cant really be taken seriously as music, can they? I listen to metal and all sub genres within it because its the only one my ears can handle, I love deep growls, and love slow melancholy doom riffs.. At times ill switch it and play some Viking/Pagan/Black or some MeloDeath.. Theres enough music in the Metal genres to not have to force myself to listen to some 50 Cent just to look cool within my peers..

^ I agree with you totally Anthrax! Welcome aboard MD! Our Metal forum is lacking miserably in posts! I also listen to many metal genres from Slipknot to OPETH ...they're a tremendous band ,,,saw them live this year ...OPETH!
