Duh!!!!! What about Keith Richards and his astonishing and enduring array of riffs and songs. His guitar playing has been consistently innovative and even his online mixing is good, and his use of alternate tuning lies at the heart of the Stones's sound.

Much more than that--he has no serious jazz or Blues guitarists (SRV is excepted because he's so well known...and got killed early). It's thoroughly rock/rockin' blues oriented...which would be fine elsewhere but not in a general forum. These kids today...I dunno. A good listen to Tommy Emmanuel will make you forget all the emotions-appealing-only, hyper-dynamic-to-what-purpose? shredders.
