RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-12-2022 on Prime: only put it on because Sly starred in it, alas, he played mose of a supporting role. not really a Stallone movie anyway. Wiki: Backtrace (film) - Wikipedia plot: After suffering a brain injury from a bank heist gone wrong, MacDonald (Matthew Modine) develops amnesia and is put into a prison psychiatric ward. Following his seventh year in evaluation, he is coerced by an inmate and a ward doctor (Ryan Guzman and Meadow Williams) to break out of prison and injected with a serum that forces him to relive the life he's forgotten. MacDonald must now elude a local detective (Sylvester Stallone), a toughened FBI agent (Christopher McDonald) and the drug's dangerous side effects in order to recover the stolen money all while confronting his past. Rating: 1.5/5 RE: Currently Watching? - Ruby - 16-12-2022 Eating humble pie, yet again – it’s becoming a staple diet! Sorry to say I succumbed and watched the Harry and Meghan saga. I can understand that it must be scary and horrible to have so many people in the world saying nasty things about you, not to mention threats to personal safety, and their children – that’s terrible, these are flesh and blood human beings, with real feelings – I get it, but they should have simply gone quietly, IMHO. Nothing speaks louder than silence. I think Harry has irredeemably cooked his royal goose – just in time for Christmas! There is no way back from where he is now, and seriously – if they wanted privacy and peace so badly, why on earth expose their lives on Netflix? Oh wait .... There is a lot of footage from way back so the whole things smacks of orchestration, to me, and while I don’t doubt the sincerity of certain of the interviewees, or the machinations of ‘the institution’, I couldn’t help being aware that this doccie too is a part of the game. And there is supreme irony in allowing filming while purportedly being stressed out by the stalking paparazzi at the same time, not to mention happily sending out very personal footage to the entire planet, by choice, and then bemoaning the opportunistic media. The bottom line for me though is if you don’t need to justify your actions – then don’t. This series lays on Meghan the Messiah quite thick, and while wholeheartedly applauding some of her causes (which I hadn't known about), it feels as though there’s a lot of ‘I’ in the equation. There are gaps too, and how could it not be one sided? Yes, one can see where they're coming from, and yes, the media are manipulative, and yes, the entire world is enslaved, and yet I don’t find dignity in this approach – it’s disingenuous not to consider the money and the privilege, not to mention the acting, and it's certainly leaving a trail of burning bridges in their wake. Good thing QEII didn't have to see this. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 16-12-2022 No i have not and will not watch this doco (soap opera) Yes Ruby, i think your comments are spot on in every aspect. i remember seeing an interview with his mother once and even she was saying that he was treated differently to William by "the firm" from the day he was born. if true that would have been heartbreaking for Diana to watch and i cannot even imagine the resentment Harry would have had bottled up inside him against the whole institution. i think had his mother had still been alive he would have had a decent parental role model to guide him. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2022 on Amazon Prime latest remake of a Stephen King adaptation... the original 1984 (ish) version sucked so they could really only improve on it, or so i thought... the original is worthy of an Acadamy Award compared to this. not sure where to start here because it sucks on every level IMO Wiki: Firestarter (2022 film) - Wikipedia rating: 1/5 RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2022 always good to watch something childlike and totally harmless in every way... Wiki: Moana (2016 film) - Wikipedia Rating 3/5 RE: Currently Watching? - Ruby - 24-12-2022 ^One of my favourite CGI movies is Ratatouille. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-12-2022 ^^ "cars", the first one, is my favourite CGI animated movie, but Ratatouille is very good also RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-12-2022 ![]() may surprise some people here that i have never seen this movie but i am not a fan of Ferrell, i am however a fan of James Caan and to overlook Ferrell because of JC (James Caan, not Jesus Christ LOL) anyway, a very enjoyable holiday movie Rating 3.5/5 RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-12-2022 ![]() well that was pretty bad... Rating: 1.5/5 RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 01-01-2023 "RED DIRT RISING" on Prime. tells the true story of the early days of Nascar in the 1930s. Wiki: Red Dirt Rising - Wikipedia im not a 'car' person (unless it is the CGI movie 'cars') but this was pretty good, slow but good. Rating 6.5/10 |
