on Prime Video...

not a fan of a lot of his films but this one was passable after a dubious first 10 minutes!

a big game hunter on the way back home with his live captures.
on board the ship is a murderer being extradited from Mexico to the US...
the hunter has to hunt the murderer when he escapes his shackles...
predictable but passable

stars two of the greats in Pacino and Hopkins so i was expecting big things...

Wiki:  Misconduct (film) - Wikipedia

almost confusing in places
slightly fragmented and disjointed

a good movie with a decent plot but the sub-plots spoilt a good thriller IMO

on Amazon Prime (Prime Video)

Wiki:  The Fanatic (2019 film) - Wikipedia

stars John Travolta.

he plays an autistic obsessed autograph hunter who wont take no for an answer from his favourite actor whose autograph he wants.
things spiral out of control into the dark depths of insanity...

some weird bits in the movie but overall it is quite good.
in fact, Travolta's performance is worth the admission price and to me his performance rivals Hanks' Gump role.

movie -  3/5

Ancient Apocalypse - Graham Hancock - on Netflix. He postulates that there was an ancient race or civilisation who were much more advanced than academia supposes and that we have lost much knowledge over the millennia. I've read a number of his books through the years but none for some time now.

I have to say, he makes a good case and it's absolutely intriguing to see all the sites. Despite a healthy dose of skepticism as regards what can only be called conspiracy theories, I'm still a total sucker for certain of the mysteries of our world - loved to read about the Knights Templar, etc., so I have enjoyed this so far! And yes - I agree with him (cynicism aside) - we have to be open to exploring what might seem like sometimes wild conjecture before just shutting down ideas. Puzzles are often solved with a bit of imagination, I would think!

stars Harry Styles.

Set in 1950 Brighton,UK, a gay policeman, Tom Burgess, marries schoolteacher Marion Taylor while being in a relationship with Patrick Hazlewood, a museum curator. The secret they share threatens to ruin them all.
the movie flits between then and forty years later as their lives are still woven together...

I happen to agree with him, in principle anyway. if you travel around Egypt there are thousands of examples that an advanced civilization existed on this planet before what we now call the 'modern' era. All you have to do is look. The perfection and symmetry in the statues and temples could not have been done with hammers and chisels. No way.

^Oh absolutely - it is impossible that whoever built those structures did not have advanced skills – or access to some kind of technology to which we are no longer privy.

He doesn’t say so directly because that would make him an even greater pariah, but some of the resistance to these theories will be that they call into question the basis of established religion. Pull that particular rug out from under people, and you have an upset of epic proportions.

He speaks of the Leonids – possibly the ‘snakes in the sky’ depicted by so many of the ancients – most visible from tomorrow, coincidentally … https://www.space.com/34500-leonid-meteor-shower-guide.html
