Amazon Prime series.
im a big fan of the original Star Trek series and the Next Generation (couldnt care less about the other spin-offs)
but as this is set after Jean Luc-Picard's (Patrick Stewart) retirement from Star Fleet i thought i would give it a go.
only one episode in so far so not really ready to form an opinion other than Patrick Stewart is brilliant as always.

one of the greatest sci-fi/horror movies ever, maybe even the greatest IMO...
stars Lawrence Fishburne and Sam Neil.
one of only a handful of horror movies that actually gives me the heebee-jeebees.
great stuff:
plot,
so basically a spacecraft, the Event Horizon, which is designed for interdimensional travel which was presumed lost, suddenly reappears in orbit around Neptune, the space agency sends a rescue/salvage mission and when they board the craft that is when the poop really hits the fan...

JIMMY SAVILE: A BRITISH HORROR STORY
on Netflix.
two part documentary details the 50+ year abuse of disadvantaged children (and occasional adults) by Jimmy Savile.
doco also shows the many high profile friends he had from Royalty to Prime Ministers and how his crimes were covered up by various Police Forces throughout the UK.
harrowing descriptions from some of his known 400+ victims along with his own interviews where he actually subtly and cryptically tells who and what he was but no one connected the dots...
lots of previously unseen footage and new information.

a doco about the conservatorship placed on Britney spears by her father and how he controlled everything in her life.
now, i am not a fan of Britney but after watching this i am of the opinion that her father drove her to her reckless lifestyle with the controlling restrictions he put on her.
so many documents say that what she was saying was right but when you have the best lawyers to play verbal judo in court situations like her father had then you will win every time.
i now feel so sorry for her that she had to endure this 'prison without being in prison' for so long.

psychological thriller of cat and mouse games between police on trail of serial killer.

stars Denzel Washington and Rami Malek as the investigating Police and Jared Leto as the Serial killer.
good movie but i cannot help but see Malek as Freddie Mercury.
sorry, but the dude is always going to be Freddie to me due to the incredible performance he gave.

on Netflix, 7 episode mini-series.
each episode around 60 minutes in length...
has a distinct Stephen King "the stand" feel to it, but on a smaller scale...
very good series IMO

four episodes in, more episodes due at the end of this week...
"sc-fi western mystery thriller" is what Wiki calls it, i think thats a fair call...
still none the wiser as to what is actually happening neither...
with four more episodes to go i am halfway through so i will see it through with some trepidation attached...
the plot so far:
Royal Abbott is a Wyoming rancher, fighting for his land and family, who discovers a mysterious black void in the pasture, following the arrival of Autumn, a drifter with a connection to Abbott's ranch. While the Abbott family copes with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca, they are pushed further to the brink when a rival family, the Tillersons, try to take over their land.

from all accounts this is going to be the final part of the final season of Ozark...
two episodes into the second part of season-4, overly melodramatic, certainly doesnt give the feel of building to a crescendo currently....

Have to agree. Every time I see Malek I always think of Freddie Mercury. He is going to have to come up with something special to beat that performance.
