Was blown away when this gem came out. Had never heard anything like it. Then I was blown away 40 some years later when my brother heard it for
the first time and shrugged it off. Guess you had to be there. The perfect blend of metal/rock/blues. This was heavy metal in 1969. The only
throw away here is the damn instrumental. Everything else I love. The album has gone 8x platinum. There are 5 other Zep albums that have sold
more which proves the bands impact on music. Worthy of all those above honors.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

That is one of my alltime faves and the only Eagles song I have . Hotel California is also a GREAT song
but otherwise they are not a band I care for . But hey, TWO songs .... that's 2 more than almost everybody
in the entire world :biggrin1::wink::tongue:

Zep 1 was important to me as a drug-addled teenager . I sniffed gasoline a few times at 12 and remember weird things
happening with that music , and Zep 2. Good Times Bad Times and Black Mountain Side both made it into my current world .
It was weird getting the cd a couple years ago; I hadn't heard some of those songs in 35 years. It's the ones that sound good now,
drug-free, that I really like going and getting again . Lots of old Jethro Tull is 'still great' .

The Beatles...all day!

Mark Knopfler - Last Exit to Brooklyn (Finale) - one of my favourite instrumental pieces. Strings are just brilliant.

Desperado is my go to album when the need for country rock calls – a less than regular occurrence, but one that needs to be catered for!

On to the now – I am listening to Alan Parsons, minus the project (ie Eric Woolfson). Two albums, ‘On Air’ and ‘Try Anything Once’. I like both, distinct as they are, conceptually, musically, etc. Ian Bairnson is steadfastly wonderful.

‘Blown by the Wind’ from On Air - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnKfLAb_iIg
‘Jigue’ from Try Anything Once (instrumental alert here for those who no likey) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OklyoRBYL5Y
and ‘Oh Life (There Must Be Something More)’ from TAO (lovin’ the acronym) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNxCa9REl58

I used to listen to Alan Parsons a lot but found in later years that the albums all started to sound the same and I lost interest. Have you heard A Valid Path? Not a bad effort. My favourites by him are Tales of Mystery & Imagination, I Robot, Pyramid, Stereotomy & The Turn of a friendly Card.

Just misses my love score but with 7 love tracks, I'll accept the filler. Only 8 of these 15 tracks were newly recorded for this album. It was
decided to make it a double album with unreleased tracks from previous album sessions back to their third album. It is the groups second best
selling album after IV, going 16x platinum. Only one single released which didn't chart that well. Kashmir is my standout as it is for most I
think. Then we have the dreaded instrumental in Bron-Yr-Aur and I never cared for the boogie track, maybe if they hadn't stuck the word boogie
in the title.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

And this, boys and girls, is how you play the drums with just a Fairlight to guide you - try from the 4.40 mark. Beyond brilliant. http://youtu.be/HbWFIS6ma_k
