I didn't mean to start a Forum war but all Israel is trying to do is defend their right to exist.
In the process defending ours too. Looks like y'all would appreciate their efforts besides condeming them.
Music Head is right! God did not tell Israel they could not defend themselves from being attacked and warn others from being nuked
and yes from the help of other terrorist countries with leaders such as Putin, Iran could acquire a nuclear weapon.
Say what you want, Israel will still be here while other countries will be gone in the End.

Btw, one more thing. Seems some need to be reminded as I have said before.
Christianity is Not a religion. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Not that I am trying to convert any of you, just wanted to clarify that.

Israel lives in constant fear and paranoia. A friend of mine went there and he told me that teachers are armed when they are out on field trips with their students. What a helluva way to exist! A close relative told me that in his opinion the Israelis are far more stricter than the Arabs with regards to airport interrogation. Apparently his wife was questioned for four hours before she could leave Israel. This happened about 10 years ago...I am wondering what the situation is now! Can't be worse than a long interrogation.

You are, of course, entitled to think and feel this way even if nobody else (and I mean NOBODY else) agrees with you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity

People who know the Lord agree with me.
Christ said I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
That is a relationship with God.
Let us end it right there before you say something you might regret!!
Btw jazz, there are Christian Jews. So you are wrong about the Jews too.
There are some Jews who believe Jesus is Lord!

Interesting Steve!

Wow. This topic started treading into the anti-Semitic waters pretty quickly.

Since I don't believe that was anybody's intent here, let's take a quick time-out for a brief Public Service Announcement.

Jew =/= Israeli

Israeli =/= Jew

(Note "=/=" is supposed to be an equal sign with a line through it, indicating they are not equal.)

There are members of Israel's Knesset (aka Israel's government) who are not Jewish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Arab_members_of_the_Knesset) and there are Jews who do not support Israel (as one example; http://www.truetorahjews.org/).

By conflating the terms "Israeli" and "Jews" you are no longer criticizing one country's government, but are instead criticizing an entire ethnic group of people, many of whom have absolutely no involvement with the country you initially intended to criticize.

Why is this important? Because there are groups of people who oppose Israel solely because it holds itself out to be the "Jewish State" (even though it allows all sorts of groups other than Jews in the country. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Israel), which is why you do see so many criticisms of Israel written off as pure anti-Semitism, whether rightly or wrongly. There are groups who believe the Holocaust was faked by Jews to steal their own country from Palestinians and oppress them, as one example (See: http://www.therealistreport.com/2014/03/how-holocaust-was-faked.html). By failing to differentiate between "Jewish Government" and "Israeli Government" you do a disservice to your argument by basically losing the legitimate argument against Israel's government, and instead wind up coming off as anti-Semitic, focusing solely on your dislike/hatred of Jews in general.

So, unless your intent is to demonize all Jews across the world, you should make sure that your criticisms of Israel's government are directed at Israel, and not Jews worldwide. (Note: The "you's" in this sentence are a general you and not directed at any one specific member.)

And now that that's off my chest, feel free to continue your debates. Time-in.

I have met a couple of people over the years who think the Holocaust was a big hoax. I just find that completely incredible. There is so much evidence to prove it - bearing in mind the Germans had a fanatical interest in keeping records of everything. Anyway, when I was a wee lad I met an old man who had left Europe after the war and come to live in South Africa. He had this large library of all the books he could lay his hands on regarding this despicable atrocity visited on mankind. He just could not let it go - a permanently damaged man. Quite a sad thing to see. As the song goes 'when will we ever learn........'

As George Santayana once said - 'those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it.'

A well-thought, well-spoken Post...unfortunately it needed to be said. My question: When can we get back to discussing politics?

Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-04-2015

anyone who doesnt believe the holocaust happened needs to visit one of the death camps....
ive visited Dachau, many moons ago....
and seriously, you could cut the air with a knife as you passed through those wrought-iron gates...
then theres the gas chambers, the thousands of graphic phots on the walls...
once youve seen it, you never forget it...

the de-humanization these people suffered along with the torture, humiliation and savagery is beyond description...

and the fact other people could inflict these sufferings on other human beings is beyond my wildest nightmares...

believe me.....the Holocaust HAPPENED, to what degree we will never fully know nor will we understand/comprehend it...but it happened and humanity fails to learn from that lesson
less than a hundred years later!

here's one that sums it up for me:
